Thieves in the Gym
Anyone had anything stolen from your gym?
I had my back pack stolen last Saturday.
After working out I went in to take a shower, got my towel, shampoo, soap out of my bag, locked my locker and proceeded to shower. 10 minutes later I came out, the locker was open slighly and my backpack and water bottle (yes water bottle???) was gone.
I dont use a BIG lock, only as small el cheapo keyed pad lock. Not one that uses the cheap little generic key but a real key. Im still sure if you pulled HARD enough you could get the lock to open. There is always a SLIM chance I didnt lock it but I have never done that before. Still it doesnt matter, someone took it.
Contents of back pack: Schick Quatro razor with 4 new blades, shaving gel, after shave, deodorant, Clean T shrit, Tank top socks and underwear. Just used underwear, work out gloves, lifting straps and lifting hooks.
Thats it, no money, no key, no phone... My pants where on the bottom of the locker as well as my Polo shirt hanging up. I check most of the lockers nearby and a few others that where open t see if someone had taken it and moved it. Nothing.
No manager on site since it was the end of the night, last 5 minutes but I reported it to the worker on duty. Of course he didnt see anything or anyone leaving in a hurry. The next night the manager had already left so I didnt get to talk to him.
They have surveillance cameras just out side of the locker room door so you can see anyone coming or going as well as outside. I figured if they left with it we could easily spot them since it was done within a 10 minute window or time.
Tonight I talked to the manager, filed a report and went in to work out. On the locker that my stuff had been taken from there was a lock identical to mine that was also taken with my backpack. I told the manager it looked identical and after my workout I was going to go out to my truck and get my key to see if it fit.
Guess what? It fit and my backpack with EVERYTHING including my water bottle was inside. I guess the thief was a little smart and figure it was not worth getting busted over since there was no wallet, credit cards or anything of value so they put it back. Yes I am 100% sure it was gone, it was not moved before and not there the next day.
I'm guessing what they did is moved it to another locker with their lock so they could come back later the next day or two and check to see what was in it but after finding nothing figured it was the safest thing to put it back. For a crook/thief not to dumb...
Sorry for the LONG story. What is yours?

Glad you got your stuff back.. this is like a stupid thief story but its what I think of when i read stuff like what happened to your bag.
I was in college. Went to a big college. Lots of exchange students and foreigners. This guy asks me to ask the girl next to me for her pen in the computer lab. Its not just any pen. It looked like a 20 dollar pen I mean it was fancy and shit. Refillable etc.
I say this guy wants to borrow your pen. Blah blah. She gives it to him. Like 3 minutes later he rushes out of the computer lab with the pen. It all happened kind of quickly. When she realizes what happened she gets really flustered and bent out of shape. Just the way he asked me to ask her, I know that he had stolen many things in his life and knew how to set up a play.
When I saw that sad look on this girls face.. it was like.. how do you do that to a girl? I don't want to say I would kill that **** face.. but at the least I would whip the ****ing shit out him if given a chance again.

i had this awesome red, white and blue powerlifting belt. it was all broken it and fit me perfect. i was one of my most prized possessions. i set it down after a set of squats, went to the bathroom and when i got back it was gone. i asked everyone if they had seen anything but nobody had. i looked for weeks after in the gym for anyone wearing it, but i never found it again.
all i can hope is that karma will someday come back and bite the guy who stole it in the ass.

It's school, it's not like he is going to ditch classes for the next week/month just because he stole a pen. It cant be that hard to track someone down but OK....
I talked to some other guys in the gym tonight who have had stuff stolen, one guy they removed his combination lock, stole wallet with everything. That would suck.
Another guy said he found his $$$$ tennis shoes missing. He searched and found them in another locker not locked and waited for the guy to return and confronted him. Russian guy, not a kid... He embarrassed him in front of everyone telling them what he had done and he never returned.
Stupid people/thieves. Sometimes I have though about just baiting people to see what they will do and bust them for fun.... No like leaving $100 laying on the ground but like cars unlocked with something inside, locker unlocked and slightly open. Stuff I would never think twice about but other people look for the opportunity.

Mine has very few or no kids in the evening so..... A couple months ago I noticed a bag left out in the locker room. You could clearly see a wallet in it on top, it was unzipped. I waited a few minutes after changing, didnt see anyone claiming it and went out to get someone working. I brought him in and while we are talking about it, someone else mentioned it has been there for a while. The worker is about to take it when someone walks in and said OMG I left that out. It was him, we saw the ID and also all his cash. LOL He was very happy and felt stupid... It happens.
