Optimal time for creatine dose?
Just re-loading on creatine.
I used to take my daily dose with my before bed shake but am wondering if there is an optimal time to take that dose of creatine?
Thx for the info

The best way to take creatine is an hour before workout.
Creatine converts to ATP in your muscles. ATP is what creates energy for your muscles to use. When you use the energy in your muscles, ATP is broken apart into ADP + P. The energy released from the breaking down of atp in 2 different molecules is what is used by your muscles.
You body likes a natural balance of around 70% of it's maximal ATP in your muscles. By taking the creatine you will up the amount of ATP in your muscles to 100% or near it.
This will last for a few hours before your body wants to gain back it's natural balance and excretes the extra creatine out in your urine and brings your muscles back to their normal 70% balanced state.
Creatine will help you crank those extra reps in the gym.
Creatine intake has an habit of added water retention in your muscles. Using creatine at any other time than pre workout just creates water retention. Thus the bloated look creatine gives when taken multiple times daily. It also creates extra stress on your kidneys.
The suggested intake provided on bottles is very misleading because companies want happy customers and people believe creatine adds size on to them. So they tell people to take it multiple times daily. The added size is actually from the water retention created from the unneeded intake.
