Well actually there is a big difference in the two. White rice is a simple carb and digests quickly just like white bread. Brown rice is a complex whole grain that breaks down much slower causing a steady release in the blood stream. It really comes down to your goals and how you gain weight. I only eat white rice post WO most of the time because I gain weight pretty fast.

Nothing wrong with consuming white rice now and again. Its by no means optimal during a cutting phase, but if it fits into your macro's and daily kals, why not?
When bulking, I use higher GI carb sources now and again. White potato, rice, pasta etc...

I like brown rice much better than white rice. White rice is bland. Brown rice has taste to it. Plus the texture is better. (if you get it right)

glycemic index is higher for white than for brown
if you prefer to eat whole foods, you eat brown. All white is processed brown, with the outer husk (and fiber) removed. Your blood sugar levels will spike with white, which triggers the glycogen response more than brown. People concerned with blood sugar levels should avoid white.
