    Barbell Military press 315lbs....

Not sure where to put this thread so I put it here, mods you can move it if you see fit.

Gonna get my girl to video me barbell military pressing 315lbs for (hopefully) 2-3 coming up soon. Last week I did 275lbs for 5 reps on 4th set. So fresh, im ASSUMING it can do it. lol Its a goal ive always kinda had since BB military is one of the hardest power movements to do with heavy weights and I wanna record it! Ive never gone heavier than 285 for 5 on 4th set a year ago. So we shall see.... Wish me luck!!

I got 225x8, but I haven't gone heavier. Are you coming all the way down to the chest, or to the chin? I would think to the chin should count.

Chin. Lower than that ive always been told it messes with your rotator cuff so Ive only ever gone down to the chin/nose area.

I was just going to say...be careful with that cuff dude, 315 on military is an impressive feat but not if it puts you out of commision for a year and needing surgery.

Yeah, it's not that I can't go all the way down, but I tried it for a set with over 200, and it hurts. I have a previous injury, so it might be that.

That's the biggest problem these days. So many of the original ways that most of these classic exercises were performed have now been proven to be harmful and lead to injury. Except 90% of the people out their who think they know what they are talking about always want to bitch and moan when they see someone doing that exercise the modern, more effective, and safer way, because they don't educate themselves enough to know any better.
The best part is when all the tiny guys watch videos of the biggest, strongest men in the world working out, then say something like "he's doing that wrong, he has terrible form, obviously he is only seeing results because of genetics and steroids " lol

Well, I feel whatever form you use (as long as you're not using momentum), if you're only a few inches from full range to save your joints/tendons, seems OK to me. If it's working, it can't be criticized too harshly.

I agree. What I am saying is, I am by far the strongest, biggest, and best built guy in my gym. I have only been home and working out for 9 months now. Yet every skinny douche will whisper behind my back that I don't know what I am doing, I do exercises wrong, I use bad form, etc. I must not be too stupid, though, since it only took me 9 months to become the biggest and strongest in the gym.

Yeah, jealousy will do that . Do I go up to them when they're cheat curling 70's, using every muscle in their scrawny body other than their biceps? No. So leave me alone as well .
