Hey, anyone knows anything about male underwear modeling? Like how to get into it and stuff?

I'm pretty condifent I look pretty close to all the guys on the underwear boxes. I'm 6'2", 210, 6 pack, and I wouldn't mind getting paid to take a couple pictures here and there.

Anyone ever done it? Or knows how to get into it?

You're way too big for that. lol but for real, most of those cats are like 170-180lbs at your height...My friend who is 6'2" at 210lbs at about 6% had to LOSE weight for his photoshoots and keep the same bf...Basically, they told him he was too big and had to lose muscle.

I used to do some runway work and once I put on any size..... they told me I had to start doing print ad..... I was too big for runway. Now i'm too big for regular print work..... so it's either fitness modeling or nothing ahaha

Really? I'm too big? I don't think I'm that big. I mean underwear models are fairly muscular guys aren't they? They don't look like skinny twigs on those Calvin Klein underwear boxes. Bigger abs, bigger thighs.

The taats might hurt you Rex unless they are going for that "look"... the nice thing about sitting where you are is you can lean up or fill out more within a week or so to meet the needs of a shoot just with diet shifts...

but the boys above are right, get good pics taken and send that shit out to everyone... who knows, maybe you'll get man-whore requests and make some real money

Get a great portfolio together and send out to the top places with photos alone and some shots with a pretty sexy girl next to you

Maybe find a Manager but be careful because Managers can take as high of a fee as they want
And as far as an agent...they have a set fee usually

And remember it is a business. So if you get called in, be on time and groomed to the t.

Yeah just higher a photographer and take a variety of photos. On your underwear photos try to find a nice pair that doesn't show the logo or brand on the outside. Craigslist may be a good place to look for a photographer. A lot of times you can find an up and comer that will do it for free or for cheap if you let them use the photos for there own portolio.

I actually know several profesionnal photographers. They're mostly wedding photographers tho. Ones a girl, she's really good, I made her website and stuff. Thing is she's my buddy's wife and I'm not sure how that would go over with him, her taking pictures of me in underwear lol!

look around and see what the current "looks" are and come up with a variety and I will tell you why
Most casting directors have no imagination. Ex: there was a study done with head shots where on the back of the 8x10 has a composite of maybe 4-5 different looks. The casting call was for a nurse. And guess what? Only the girls who had a nurse uniform on got called in. Another reason: it is so fast paced and so when casting directors are flipping thru shots, they just go with what is easy for them and since it is before their very eyes, they just go with it.

Yes..get a good photographer. I don't know where you live as in access to a good one. Sometimes you can get lucky and find someone with a good eye who is trying to get their feet wet as a photographer and you can trade. But the key here is to make sure they have a good eye. Or it is a waste of time.

I would do underwear and swim trunks and speedo type too....with a variety of locations. Like an upscale place surrounded by money...a street shot in an ally with your tattoos showing....a sports shot..a fireman or policeman to show hunky type.....a romantic shot with a very pretty girl and a shot with a dog!

The Tats really might hurt ya tho. this one guy I new, he had this awesome side dragon tat that went from the side of his abs down to midthigh once he got that they stopped using him for shows. he figured they could use makeup to cover it up but they were just not willing to do that when they could find someone without 'em.

Me too, well used to be. I did point fighting tournaments for awhile (tae-kwon-do & karate). I was also trained by a best buddy of mine in Kempo, tho not officially, he was a roomie for 2 years and we trained alot. I've been rolling with a buddy of mine whenever I have time, he is a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. Thats why I have no desire to be any bigger than 200 at 6'1. I still have incredible speed and I don't want to bulk to the point I lose that.

some of these opportunities are by word of mouth and others are "right place at the right time". My son (now 20) was asked, out of the blue, to do a fashion show (too bad good looks don't work reverse genetically!!) for some girls he knows (you know, walk down the runway kind of stuff). Another time, he modeled for a local clothing store in one of their catalogs. If he was intereseted in that sort of thing, at that point, I imagine he could have found an agent and pushed a career out of those beginnings.

He has a buddy that strips for women "events" and sometimes my son will accompany him. He's been asked more than once if he would be interested in going down that road, and good for him for declining!

The only modeling I've ever done was infront of a fire holding a beer!

I'd get paid $100 for some things and $500 for others..... I wouldn't go spend $2,000 on all kinds of photos and head shots but you will need to spend some cash to get started. In the end..... I didn't have the right agent. Then you have people like my best friends brother who was seen on the street by someone from calvin klein and he went in for a shoot. I was talking to him about agents and he said they're a waste of money..... why pay someone for the work you do? Thats sounds all fine comming from someone who got lucky LMAO!
