If he's good enough to go pro is it really any different then the pro bb'ers who start at 18 or 19?

College players juice all the time. Then when they go pro and stop using they flop like Jamarcus russel.

I asked this "going pro" simply to get an idea and to possibly help create some talking points ...

WE all know it is WAY TOO EARLY!

Yeah I agree its too early. My comment was towards the op. I figure if running a cycle could mean the difference between 5 round draft pick to maybe even 2 round that could be a difference of millions of dollars. Which to me would be clearly worth it.

If he wants to cycle and doesn't have a good chance of going pro already then it's a definite no IMO.

So you can put a price on your health? or weather you will have children? "Heath, it's only important to some people when they don't have it"

    Money changes people

or weather you will have children?
Thats really a side issue anyways as their no definitive evidence responsible use of steroids with the appropriate pct and time off will that be an issue

however it goes on in all sports forget the football you name every sport has these problems.

Yes I'm a firm believer that there's a price for everything. Most members on this board take the chance of being infertile for nothing more than appearance so to do it for money is a no brainer.

To stay on topic tho. Whether it's right or not there's steroids in all sports at all levels from high school on up. Look at Arnold and cutler who both used as teens to acheive there goals. They, well atleast Arnold, have kids and arnold along with many other older retired pros are living perfectly healthy at 60+

Again I'm not saying that teens should use but if it has the chance of drastically changing your life for the better than it's a personal choice that I can't knock anyone for.

I would be more concerned about the health of my child than his football career.

Again whatever the circumstances, i'd take the health of my child over ANYTHING. People seem to take good health for granted until theirs takes a turn for the worse.

Don't they test for steroids in college?? i thought they did anyways.. but i only played rugby in college which was a club sport, so i just assumed that the football guys got random tests if you are in a division one team.

Either way the question is flawed because you are 17 years old when you play your senior year of football.. maybe a few are 18 already, and they get drafted off that performance. that is where you get the scholarship from. So if you are 18-19 your freshman year you are most likely going to be red shirted anyways, but the schoarship will still pay for your school.. if it was the difference between me and another guy going for a starting position on a great team i am already on then yeah i would.. but it would never come down to that since you would mosty likely already be 6'6" 275lbs when you were 17 anyways.. i mean look at the size of some of these guys.. the freshmen in pac10/divison one college ball can pick up freight trains nowadays.. It doesn't matter how many steroids you take, you will never be able to hit homeruns like Barry Bonds.. the modern day sports icons who are under the gun for AAS use are still 90% skill and only 10% steroids..

Too young is too young. Anyone who would put thier kids oin this stuff is no better then these parents who push thier kids out onto pagent stages or pull them out of school to hire them private coaches. Not too mention AAS could mess a kid up for life.

Only time they really test is if they have probable cause. So that means they rarely test. You'd have to have someone accuse a student of using.
