Hands getting torn up
Been doing a lot of heavy work in the gym and all i use is chalk and straps for grip and its killing my hands. Here is what they looked like after back.
I can't seem to wear gloves because they seen to "bunch up" between the bar and my hand and combined with the heavy weight it pinches my skin causing me to lose focus. Even when i squeeze smalls on my hands it does the same. What do you guys use ?

just work through it, they toughen up pretty quick. also maybe vary your gripping style. alternate hands, hold the weight more with your fingers etc

Mine looked like that but now the callusses are too tough to break. Just fight through it and the skin will thicken up. I can't use gloves and they don't allow chalk at my gym so I had no choice but to deal with it.

Mine look like that when I'm lifting what I consider heavy lol. And when the grip on the bar is fresh but I like it to be honest makes me feel like a manly man :P

We aren't allowed to use chalk either (ballys) but i use it anyway. I have a small bag in my gym bag which i use to dip my fingers in and spread it on my hands. I don't get powder all over the place so no one says anything. At least they haven't for the past 2 years i been using it.

Just work through it, and keep away from the gloves, IMO. I use mix grip when I do grip holds, where I take something 500+ and hold it for as long as possible. The problem is that as I keep holding near the end of my ability, my hands start to slip on the bar. That slipping on knurling with all that weight hurts, but it will make your hands solid. I've done all kinds of jobs where people tell me to wear gloves because it will tear up my hands, and I have never needed to. I like to slap "A double S" with my leather hands!

Do you moisturise your hands? If you do, stop. When your hands are soft they get cut up easier.
I found over time my callices just hardened, become rough and my hands no longer get cut up unless it's a big back workout. Then, i expect to add some size to my callices as well as my back

I've been using this stuff lately cause my gym doesn't allow chalk either.
Its pretty much alcohol and chalk. I apply it before my workout and it generally lasts my entire workout as long as I don't get to sweaty or touch anything wet.
My hands do still get torn to shit but my grip doesn't fail.

Bare knuckle boxers of yesteryear soaked their hands in brine, a mixture of salt and water.

Those look more like callouses from an intense steam room workout on a busy day.

Once again a thread in the lounge takes on sexual content.
DSM, my hands have looked since I started lifting.

I found a cheap pair of Nike gloves at Olympia sports for less the $10 that fit like a second skin. No bunching up issues at all.
