    16months no drinking

As the title says guys i hadn't had a drink in 16months but i couldn't get out of it i had to go to my brothers bucks night and i wasn't strong enough not to drink lol

I did realise that wow i wasn't missing much and im back on the wagon the funny thing was i thought i would feel guilty that i went so long quite easily after the first 3 months.

Just thought i would post it up anyone been in a similar situation...

A drink once in a while wont hurt you or even getting a good buzz on unless you have/had a drinking problem and you where abusing it or it was controlling you.

It's good if you had a problem and you can see it or even if you though you might be starting to. Most people dont have that self control or will admit there is anything wrong until it is a real problem.

I have a wee bit of a drinking problem, mate... sometimes when the world starts spinning, I grab a blade of grass and hang on so as I don't fall off or up into the sky.....

    (j/k... it's not that bad!)

Dont remember the last time I had an alcoholic drink.....For all intentes and purposes I tell people "i dont drink," which is true. I will have the occasional glass of a full bodied wine with a nice medium-rare steak. Thats it though, doesnt appeal to me, and attending the bars/clubs sober, I see what clowns and assholes people make of themselves when intoxicated. Better to just abstain all together brother!

Alcohol is certainly difficult to just walk away from. In fact, if it werent for improsonment (thank God), i wouldve never kicked that death trap of a habit. More over, realized how it was literally ruining my life. There are people that can control their alcohol and others that let it control them. If you are of the later (as i was) walk the fvck away before it devastates your life and others around you.

    To OP, awesome accomplishment!

its not even the consumption of an individual, its the dangerous environments the lifestyle can put ppl in. fvckin pickpockets, muggers, rapists and all the lowlifes of society are lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce. i learned a thing or two about city streets doing tht job, i can tell you.

yungone501 cheers mate im glad you can appreciate the time frame and how you kinda gotta adjust everything in your social life to avoid it lol. It was hard at the start but the new lifestyle early morning training 6 days a week would never go back now come too far.

Dec11 mate your right if the drink didn't have a history to it then i would imagine it would be illegal if invented tomorrow! oh and i would have been one of those blokes nice as sober then after 10 binge drinks within the hour i would be a **** lol...
