This dude just sent me some money for an item, I'm not sure if this thing is legit, do I go to the bank and wait a while to see if it's good or what?

The reason I am suspicious is because the buyer is in Africa, the moneygram was sent from Connecticut, doesn't add up to me, the same bank is here in town that's backing this moneygram so perhaps I will take it to them
