What is wrong with people ?

I had a viewing today for a friend that i grew up with. I have had a few this year so i know the drill. Get the suit pants ready, dress shoes, shirt (ironed), tie. No need for a jacket in this situation. I walked into the church and i see most of this guys friends in t-shirts and jeans. WTF ! Some of these guys know him better than me and they dress like that ? To me that just seems downright disrespectful. Am i the only one ?

I always have dressed the way you described when attending a wake or funeral. It shows respect IMO.

I have decided that many people just don't know. With the "casualization" of America, I bet most people don't have a spare suit in their closet for weddings and funerals. Or, they have one from ten years ago and don't fit in it anymore. I wish they taught etiquette in the high schools.
