I'm a bartender, some guy shoved me into the wall last night
Because he was waiting "too long" for a drink. I'm a shorter 23yr old, and he was a 40-something who wasn't much bigger. I had the bouncer kick him out. For some reason I feel like he'd come back to target me. Oh well, I'm ready.
On another note, I've been cruising on test for about 10 weeks now, and lately I'm caring too much about stuff. Conflicts and stuff among coworkers. Time for an AI you think?

Well the guy was wrong and dumb. Why do you think he will target you?

Not sure, gixxer, I guess I'm sorta on the sensitive side and assume that he's looking for trouble. You shoulda seen the way he was glaring at me while the bouncer was yelling at him. I just hope he got so drunk after the fact that he doesn't remember.

i highly doubt he would come back. He was probably drunk and being an a-hole. Do you work in a bad place

its very unlikely that someone would come back to get you. when people do stupid stuff they feel that they will be recognized when they come back.

Nope, it's a pretty good place, a bigger, high-volume bar/grill. Its in a ritsey area of the city I live in.
This dude and his buddies were all pretty stupid and were clueless when it came to basic bar etiquette (ordering, paying attention, having cash ready, knowing what they want before the bartender is in front of them etc)
I'm sure its not a big deal, its just the first time anybody has put their hands on me. I've had ppl say some pretty bad shit, but never actually pin me up against the wall and whisper in my ear "so you're gonna help us next, right? We're next in line right?"
I shoulda given him the elbow

And hey, if he DOES come back in and is decent, I'll buy him a shot and explain that I never like it when anybody has to wait for service. Thats why I'm in the industry. I want everyone to have a 5-star experience.

Fvckin' A. Hope the cash/poontang is good haha. Are there a lot of classy martini lounge-type of places around there? I'm thinking that type of environemnt would be a better fit for me. I have a very very professional attitude when I'm bartending. The other tenders I work with are idiots who will walk past you and your empty glass 6 times before they see you, because they're bickering about sports or some drama that happened downtown last night.
See i'm saving up some cash since I'm finally making decent money now. I live at home and am not tied down by a lease. I can pretty much go anywhere I want as soon as I save up another couple grand. I just gotta be able to pay my student loans (only 150/month).Last edited by Charlie6; 08-27-2011 at 11:26 AM. Reason: spelling error

I lived all over and in any city you can find a mix of places.
They all will have some classy lounges with $15 martini's and bottle service. And since its a city there will be ghetto places with metal detectors at the door.

Yea thats true. Where would the most cash be made? I don't do too bad at his location, but also don't do the best. I worked from noon 'til 3am yesterday and made about 300 (which I consider shitty)

I would of dropped his ass for sure, no way I would ever let someone put their hands on me.

All I can say is it won't be the first time nor the last time someone takes a shot at you. You are in the business of mixing people with alcohol. If this is the least that happens count your blessings, but be prepared for anything in that environment.

Don't buy him a damn thing! Instead, catch him when he first arrives and tell him that if he wasn't drunk you would of kicked his ass. and inform him that the next time it happens you will kick his ass and he will be banned for life.

You did the right thing
No point assaulting everyone who looks funky at you or gives you a hard time
especially with a chance you of possibly loosing your job over it
Some people just turn violent when drunk
Frontal lobe relaxation hits people different ways
The same person sober would be afraid to even make eye contact with you
His time will come

i personally would have sunk my forehead into his nose.
i got hit dirty last night at the door, the fvcker ran, he didnt reckon on me catching him within 20ft, i battered shit out of him, his mate came in from the side lamped me and gave me a black eye, so naturally he got battered too. and what do these fvckers do? call the police, of course, yellow b@stards!! good job the camera only picked up on me being assaulted and the rest was out of range, cant wait for the cops to pick up the footage.
long story short, dont take sh1t from cvnts like that. and like gixxer, if i'd a penny for everytime i was told im getting whacked, id be rich

Its funny because yesterday morning the guy actually came into the bar because he left his credit card. He was startled when he saw it was me behind the bar. He didn't say much, grabbed his card and left. He knew he made a mistake.

Ive dated/banged alot of female bartenders and yeah... they drink while working.
Why not? Its there, and its free. Makes it more fun. Makes them more fun for their customers. Which equals bigger tips.
Shit I used to cook at a nice restaurant/bar and the COOKS used to drink all night with the bartenders while working.

Sucks to hear you got sucker punched and glad to hear you came out on top. How could someone who does that sh*t go and call the cops especially with 2 on 1. I guess that's why they do that sh*t, cowards and when they cant win by cheating they try to win using the system. It's nice to hear when they loose loose. PLEASE keep us posted on the details.
