^ not sure I would go so far as to call them idiots. Some of these "idiots" have IQ's that put them in the genious range. When you believe something so strongly, and you have convinced yourself that something is right, and especially if society looks up to you as an "expert", it is easy to influence the thinking of others to believe the same as you. And if you get enough of these intellectual "egg heads" all believing the same thing, then sometimes this belief may inadvertantly get perceived as a fact, when it is not. This is my biggest gripe about the "Big Bang". Most lay people honestly believe this to be a fact. But all it takes is the addition of one little piece of information, such as the speed of light possibly slowing down over billions of years (which has been theorized before, btw) and now you have another explanation as to why the further away an object is from us, the more red shifted the light is.

Now we have clues that objects may move faster than light, which, if true, could throw a serious monkey wrench in Einstein's general theory. "And the universe as we thought we knew it, has suddenly changed"

Genious level people are just more articulate idiots. Don't believe me? Try to hold a conversation with them.

It depends on what they are geniuses in.

Hardcore Scientists, physicists, mathematicians are not usually known for their social skills. Biologists, Chemists, Doctors tend to be more grounded and have better social skills.

Social skills don't correlate with scientific knowledge.... Different parts of the brain
Most super genius's that find new things usually are misunderstood untill after their death and only after someone tries the findings again do they see the genius behind it...
And with the math and physics behind this topic I would be surprised if the super smart ones had a good social skills also

^ agreed. Look at Stephen Hawkings. You rarely find him talking?
