I would suggest most of them are designed to sell product, with the big glossy ads, and the articles that always seem to recommend some product or another. If you want information and good ideas, maybe you should ask her for some books specializing in certain areas of this lifestyle. I just finished one called Nutrient Timing, and it really had the details i needed to make some improvements to what I am doing. Otherwise, if you just want to look at guys/gals with big muscles, then just go to the store and pick out the one that catches your eye the most.

I only pick up two or three issues a year. Mostly to look at pictures for inspiration. I would see a value if I was interested in the sport of bodybuilding, but I only give occasional attention to it as I haven't like the way bodybuilders have looked for a long time. When I followed bodybuilders, I subscribed to Flex. That was a million years ago though...back when Haney, Ray, Gaspari, Labrada etc. were competing.
I pick up the one that is honest about drug use every once in a while, but as a designer I find it offensive. Just awful. Hard to look at and read.

My guy gets all diff one's all the time and I read them when he leaves them ling around. TR is spot on about the ad's and the "tips" are always the same, but the nutrition info is cool and some have weird fun facts...I dont think they are helpful, more motivational.

absolute load of cack mate, just ads for supp companies. have you any other hobbies you'd prefer a sub to, cars or bikes etc? steer her in that direction?
or if you're into plifting or oly weightlifting, they're much more sport orientated rather than glossy bb'ing crap

They all try and sell you shit, but you can usually pick up Muscle & Fitness, Men's Fitness for $1.99 a year which I don't mind for all the fluff they put in it. I wouldn't pay more than that for it tho. MuscleMag hits $6.99 per year a few times per year as well. The only one I don't know how to get cheap is Muscular Development.
The funny think when you get all of them, they all give the same advice/ articles the same month. I'll read something in MuscleMag about BCAA's and then I read the same damn thing in Muscular Development....
One thing I like out of them is I have gotten some good recipies that I'm still using today.Last edited by djdizzy; 10-10-2011 at 05:56 PM.

some of the women in there look like they could easily make the transition, if they already haven't.
porno mags are for blokes without kids, especially 13 year old daughters that go get the mail.
speaking of which, do you blokes know that Chyna (wrestling) is into porno? I watched a clip and yes, it definately was her, that unmistakeable chin, those huge arms and legs... yup, definately Chyna.

Thanks for the replies anyway guys, I know there's a whole bunch of advertising and all that, just thought there may have been a decent one out there! I don't mind the men's mags every now and then, at least they have some good looking women in there and funny sh!t! I think I'm leaning towards a book now actually, maybe a nutrition one?

you may want to consider this one... discusses how to overcome the plateau effect through proper nutrition timing.... not a bad way to spend $10
