Not sure how popular this threads going to be... But I like classical music.

    Dont laugh...

Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, various movie soundtracks.

Nothing chills me out more than that.

    No wale noises though... Haha...

I love Soundtrack to listen to at work. If there are words my mind drifts to much.

Hans Zimmer (Soundtrack God! too many to list)
Steve Jablonsky (transformers, The Island, gears of war)
John Murphy (Sunshine, 28 days and weeks later)
    Ennio Morricone (The untouchables, westerns)
    James Newton Howard (Blood Diamond)
John Williams (again to many to list)

I could go on and on......

I got the 99 darkest pieces of classical music off amazon for like 5$ and its pretty awesome. I listen to it all the time when I'm studying... it has alot of the big name classics on it and very relaxing.

my fav that seems to put me in a good mood is "toccata and Fugue in D minor"

There's definitely a time and place for it. I always listen to it when I'm around my grandparents and enjoy it. It's nice to have on in the background when the family gets together. Other than that, don't listen very often.

Yes, Boots Randolf, legendary Saxaphonist, debuted on the Ed Sullivan show, amateur ventrillaquest, became popular after "throwing his voice" into his sax while on TV. Famous for a variety of songs including Yakkety Sax (dont' talk back), Big Daddy and many others.

Big fan. Been listening to him since I was a kid.

Why would you say you'd be surprised if anyone knew?

played horn for 8, sax for 3, and picked up a harmonica one day and discovered that within minutes i was playing songs. once you know music, picking up another instrument becomes easier.

....but that was a few decades ago.....

I have always said pick the music that suits the occassion. Just like you wouldn't pick "Highway to Hell" while making love, You also wouldn't pick "baroke" style music while exercising.

....For many years, while studying, I'd listen to Ravi Shankar... very conducive for concentrating
