European guys
My wife wants to get her sister a laptop as a b-day present. Her sister is in Belarus. My wife doesnt want to buy one in the US and ship it. She is worried it wont get to her sister. Do you know of any websites we could buy one there and have it shipped to her?

Ebay, and look for a European seller.
Buy in Ebay UK.
PC World (PC City in some other countries) in the UK.

No bother, I'll be asking them tomorrow. But you do know electronics are generally cheaper over in the US than here. All they need is to send it via registered post and insure it and if it turns up broken get them to replace it. Also make sure you put present on it so her sis don't get charged VAT etc for it being a NON EU item.

Ahh ok, didn't know that then so man. Diaster
Have a go off Komplett.ie man, it's a european company that's in english as all the other ones will be the language of the EU country. I'm sure they will send it out if you email them asking or you can always ring them and ask what the deal is with it prior to trying to order man

I dunno what you mean by that. But lets say he was dealing with an Italian or Germany or any other country in the EU that don't speak english as their first language I would imagine it could get complicated to try and explain the above to them without them understanding it. That's all I was getting at.

Just google computer sellers in her area and search their sites for the laptop and software having it shipped to her address since it will be local to her no customs.
Amazon probably has a site there also.

My friend in the US sent a Camera to France... And got it insured for an extra $10.. Well when it got delivered, the person in France had to pay the France insurance fee and that was $130(american).. So dont get insureance.. not worth it.. And besides the US insureance only covers till it leaves the US anyway.. What a waste for a $200 camera..
