Really? Every 8-10hr job I've ever had consisted of 2 breaks and a lunch. 1st break between the time you arrive and lunch, and the 2nd break between lunch and the time you leave.

ive looked it up before and some states mandate breaks every certain amount of time. my state allows the employer to give you breaks at their discretion last job had me working 13 hour shifts with a 15 minute break for lunch

That sucks! What state do you live in. I've worked in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and Nevada. I also used to be a recruiting manager and every state I recruited in had state mandated breaks and lunches similar to what I described. I used to have to even make commission only employee's take breaks or I would get in trouble. I'm not saying I don't believe you...I do, but what a shitty state law you have there.

it sucks big time and I know there are several states that have it like that

i work for a local appliance store, family owned, been around for years. but all my coworkers are the family who owns, and doesn't trip wen i take breaks for my meals. i don't over abuse tho. every 3.5-4hrs. and they are cool. sometimes they even ask, when am i taking my snack time. but i guess thas a perk of having a college degree and having the luxury of sitting on my ass all day n crunching numbers. but wen i get off, I'm crunching weights.!
