    Funny things that people say...

So today I was in Northridge Ca. at the Sports Authority. I had to pick up some new speed clamps for my dumbells. As I was looking at some equipment this guy comes up to me and asks if I need any help.
I reply, yes I need some speed clamps the ones I have are shot out. He asks what I am going to use them for.. Uhhh for these adjustable dumbells and for a curl bar. He then says I have that very bar and use it every day and have no issues at all. He says it works great and he curls 250 pounds!!! Mind you he is about 175 pounds with a gut and doesnt even look like he ever has worked out. I say "REALLY??" 250 pounds hunh? Oh yeah I am really strong, when I was in highschool I was a linebacker and I used to curl 300 something pounds...ehehehhehh...I almost crapped myself laughing...what a douche!!
I mean really if you are talking to someone who obviously works out and is purchasing weightlifting equipment, wouldnt you be a little more realistic with your lies in a attempt to sell something? ehehhehhheh..250 pound curls ehehhehhh...Every day none the less!!!ehehehhehh...
I was tempted to call over his manager and explain that I want to see his employee show me how good this equipment is since he boasts to be able to curl 250 pounds!!!
I bet this kid couldnt even curl 100 pounds if I had a gun to his head!!
I have been chuckling about this all day while driving around taking care of errands..

I love when I pull up somewhere on my bike and a guy chats me up and says something like "Oh my I used to have a 600. I got that bad boy up to 200 miles an hour once." Yeeeeaaaah right.

    LOL

WTF is with people. Is it just little man complex or they just have a complex and need to lie; badly at that.

Like you said, if you are going to lie at least learn to do it good and make it believable. He probably could not dead lift 250 let alone curl it.

I liken it to this saying "the empty can rattles the loudest."

I own a retail store where we carry mostly exclusive items (meaning we have product that nobody else in town is allowed to carry) Everyday, I have people come into our story and try to haggle with me by telling me "the store down the street has it for cheaper".

Sometimes I'm polite and tell them they must be confused because we have an exclusive so they must be mistaken. If I'm having a bad day or they come in with an attitude...I'll straight up call them out on their lie. Some still sit there and try to haggle with me... I tell them if they can get it cheaper somewhere else, why the hell are they here trying to haggle with me. 2 days later they come back and buy it.

On the otherside I'll often go secret shop competitors and you'd be amazed the complete bullshit I hear from sales people!!! They'll lie out their ass to make a sale!!!

    I can't touch 250.

Strange though, or maybe not strange.
I can curl 90lbs one arm french curl
but can't touch 180 as a two arm curl

    sometimes 1 + 1 = 1.5

Unless im on my harley, then i can deadlift 500lbs with one leg
