You probably simply got credit for doing what you said you would do...not just for buying her something. Always do what you say, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because it gives them fewer things to bring up next time you argue about something.

I don't mind being generous to a girlfriend, but the relationship needs to be headed toward marriage for me to carry more than my own weight more than temporarily. Not that carrying more than my own weight is something I object too, but I want to be with someone smart, educated, self-reliant and willful which means a good mate is someone I don't need to "take care of" barring an unforeseen problem like illness. I have found a girl like that and married her. My plan is working. I do nice things, they are appreciated and reciprocated.

I never discuss previous sex partners with my wife. Don't want to tell her about mine, and don't want to hear about hers. Totally agree on that. Both of us will comment on someone being attractive - male or female - with no problems. She knows I look, but would never touch and she feels safe.

I have found that the second marriage goes better than the first. Heh. I worked hard to find someone compatible (rather than just attractive) the second time around and suffer from hardly any of the things above. Hardly any. A few. Why are they unreasonable about some things???
No not grumpy, I figured it would come across that way. Certain things do frustrate me about relationships especially when I see a guy getting sucked into the thinking he needs to shower a woman with gifts knowing that 90% of the time it will end bad or at least it will end then what was all that for? Also because with MOST women things are so one sided except when it comes to how they are treated. They wanted treated as equals, equal rights, equal pay except when they want treated SPECIAL, like a princess or??? also we/men are not allowed to violate any of their sacred girl stuff but with guys we can no longer have anything sacred, no male only clubs, male only sports or??? Women can also take off work anytime they want with the simple excuse of it's a girl thing. What's that? LOL

I have had some great relationships where things went both ways. One of my favorite birthday gifts was from GF who was making maybe $5 an hr back then and bought me a paint gun I had been wanting for painting cars that cost $120. Totally unexpected and a lot of money for her. She was like that.

You never follow through. You said you would xxx LOL OMG I have head that more than once. What's funny is many/most of the things are not what I said I WOULD do but suggestions, out loud thoughts of wanting to do this or that or just mentioning something. LOL Got to learn to keep the mouth shut....

this is so true, but the problem is that when you find a woman who is really special, you dont think of it as treating her "extra" nice, you just naturally gravitate towards wanting to make her happy. Whether its monetary gifts, cooking dinners, bubblebaths, unexpected full body massages etc... but yes, the problem does arise when they wonder why it stopped or the frequency drops off. They think we've changed, when really, its usually cause we are finding the extra effort seems unappreciated

Yup I know. It's a catch 22. Problem is our good intentions can destroy everything, ruin them many times. It's sort of with ultimate power comes ultimate corruption. We corrupt them without meaning to. It must be something hard wired in us guys. I know, I'm the same way and have to FORCE myself many times not to do certain things, buy this or that most of the time. I can relate to ALL and more of the things you mentioned. Aren't those scented fizzy bath balls fun in the bubble baths. LOL

Yeah we start thinking logically, seeing how much this is costing, how much we are over spending and dont think she will keep expecting more and like you say it's seen as something has changed in our feelings.

I know some women that are great drivers but the problem is the fact that the majority of women out there driving is about the 4th or 5th thing on their minds. Before that you are thinking
What will I buy for myself when I go shopping?
Ohhh look that house is for sale, wonder can we afford to buy it?
Ohh look at that young good looking bitch, thinking she is all that and a packet of crisps!!
4th HMMMM should I get something to eat in a while??
5th ohh that's a stop sign, woops crashed into the back of someone.

You know women better than I gave you credit for. LOL
I think you are leaving out a few (dozen) other distractions also besides the makeup thing.
It's funny how many times I have had to remind/ask a female driver if they are going to stop for that approaching stop sign, stop light or xxx. I consider myself a better than average driver not because I can multi task while driving or think I am all that but because I drive defensively and always looking out for the other guy expecting the worse and can usually predict what someone is going to do before they do it such as not stop, pull out in front of me, change lanes etc. Also I get a lot of comments/compliments typically from passengers even family members. LOL

I'm also typically very polite when I see a turn signal I make room for them, I give room to people merging instead of trying to squeeze them out and dont care about getting one more car ahead. I do have my moments and peat peeves though.

You know they say women typically dont get in as many accidents (or at least didnt use to) as men but they cause more accidents they just dont end up being involved. Changing lanes with no turn signal with someone next to them causing them to swerve away hitting someone else; reaction. I have drummed that scenario into my daughter and many other people i have taught to NOT over react. Dont automatically swerve. Make sure 1st you have room to more because of the above reason. If you hit someone it's YOUR fault... I also and teach the same to NOT swerve for dogs, cats, animals unless you know you are clear and have room. DONT over react. I will NOT wreck my car because some animal. To many people wreck, get injured or killed over something stupid like that. A child is different and I will do everything to not hit a kid. Adults are fair game. LOL

Seriously dude, where on earth did you find iphone 4 at 250$ ? That's fantasy, unless there is a catch, that gives you a better price because of fidelity to a certain telephone operator. Just plain out of the store an iphone4 is about 600-700$. Second hand 350-500 from what i saw.

Lol, Jaysus when did I ever post anything about women

I'd agree with most things you say above. The only thing that annoys me is the people that sit in the outside lane and dawdle along the road.

Oh sure you are! All women say that and then when I ride with them I don't know whether to shit or go blind! And right after they cause a 4 car pile up at the intersection they just blew through and didn't even notice and you scream in horror that they shouldn't be driving they always say "I am a better driver than most men"

Joke? I was told by #2 there was NO way, no such thing as a joke when it came to the words B*tch or cvnt. She said and mean it seriously that saying to ANY girl you are a b*tch is like slapping them in the face and no way to say it nicely or jokingly. Yeah, I used it more than once LOL
I told her that's not true, not ALL girls think that; my FRIEND Sheila didnt think that and even had a bumper sticker that said B.I.T.C.H. = Beautiful, Intelligent, Thoughtful, Cunning Human or Horny depending on how you want it. LOL Yeah after that she Sated Sheila, go figure. LOL

Yeah when I used the B word I made sure to make it clear she was ACTING like a b*tch. LOL

I remember one time in an argument she said she wanted to be adored. I said that's good, then learn to be adorable.
Another time I said yeah we are much further away than men are from Mars and women are from Venus, you are from Uranus. hahahahah
