    New lap top?

My laptop is on it's last legs, I'm going to need to buy a new one soon. I know nothing about computers. I don't really want to spend too much more than $600. Does anyone have any recommendations? I use my computer for facebook, going on the forums, and porn.

For what you would use it for, I would buy the cheapest one available at Best Buy(or wherever). I bought an Acer for like 300 bucks years ago to just get on the Internet, and it still works perfect to this day. When it comes to computers, I spend as little as possible because they become outdated so quickly and I've seen hardware in the most expensive ones fail.

You may want a bigger screen, but a netbook might be a good option for you.

My current computer is has a 720p hd display which I like. I wouldn't want a netbook, but I don't have a problem buying a cheap laptop. I would Kind of like something with a 17" screen possibly. I want to watch my porn in high def on a big screen! lol I also need something that will allow me to post faster than gixxer!

I just bought a $300 Toshiba Satellite series laptop on black friday, from Best Buy.

And its fantastic. I dont use it for much other than youtube, facebook, playing music and online classes.

But it can do more tasks with ease.
    Has a 16 inch screen.

    Check them out.

I'd say forget Best Buy. You dont to be stuck holding a worthless warranty after they file bankruptcy. plus, quite often, they won't have it "in stock" so you have to first pay, and then wait a week for your laptop. I'd say just go to Costco. they have an excellent warranty, and always in stock. prices are pretty damn reasonable too

Costco would be a good place to check. I forgot to mention newegg.com. Great stuff and sometimes free shipping.

Bestbuy isn't going out of business for anytime soon they will be around for at least another 5 years.

Plus they have an accidental damage warranty and not many places do.

Online will always have the best price though...

you can get a really decent unit for $600 bucks.

You use your computer for very basic stuff but stay away from the cheap ass computers, you can defiantly notice why they are that price.

I fix computers for a living so I know a thing or 2. Get a computer with an intel core i3 processor,4 gb memory, and 500gb hard drive. Usually the 17inch screens run a bit more that $600 but you can find one if you search for a bit.

2 options when it comes to computers, get the warranty because if it breaks IT IS NEVER WORTH IT TO REPAIR A COMPUTER OUT OF POCKET.

Or save the cash and when it breaks buy a new one. Important info for you is the new units do NOT come with recovery discs to reload windows if the unit crashes. They all come with a program on the system to create them with blank dvds or even a flash drive. MAKE THEM FIRST THING. If it crashes and you don't have them made the manufacture will charge you like 50$ and it takes forever to get them shipped.

I bought a 350 dollar Acer over a year ago. Use it for exactly the same thing you intend on doing. Check out Wal Mart. Cheap, and if something goes wrong, they usually exchange it.

I appreciate it, I have no problem spending a little more money I want quality. I'll make sure to let you know what I'm looking at as I don't know too much about computers. So far I've seen a few toshiba's and hp's with the i3 processer and 17" screens in my price range.

    You could get a
    HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition
    Intel i7 Quad-Core Processor
    8GB Memory
    750GB Hard Drive
    Blu-ray Drive
Never mind, I tried and it comes out to over $800
as normal it's not quite what it seems.
