    anyone have full arm sleeves?

How much did the outlining cost? I have something in mind for traditional japanese. I'm guessing 400 bucks won't be enough to get an outline right

There is no set price for a tattoo. A lot of it will depend on the area you live in, the quality of the artist you pick, and the amount of detail going into the tattoo. That being said, many artist will charge by the hour for a large piece like that because it will take many sessions to complete. I know in my town the per hour rate can go anywhere from 60 - 100+ depending on the skill of the artist.

Just remember. This is a lifetime decision. So make sure you see the artists portfolio and are comfortable with their work. Many times a budget price will get you a budget tattoo that you are stuck with unless you can cough up a couple hundred bucks aak hour for laser removal.

And laser surgery is not a one time thing either. I have gone once already. And have to go again 1 or 2 more times.

Yeah I took a friend of mine to get one lazered off his shin. Even after the first session healed it barely faded. He was looking at a good 4-5 to complete the removal. A good 10 hours worth in total.

any tattoo artist that i know, and i know a few, wont do the outline for a sleeve in one sitting because too many people get them to make a unique design and do an outline then go to somebody cheaper for some piss poor shading, for a sleeve with a not bad design and decent shading your looking at 2k easy from a reputable artist

Don't have full sleeves yet. But I've got a couple grand in total work and that's with knowing a lot of the local artists and getting the friend discount.

I'm just looking for how much strictly the out line will cost. The guy I'm going too is literally one of the best for japanese in my area. Someone I used to be friends with got his sleeve done by him cost about 3k total if I still talked to him I would have just asked him how much the outline was.

I am definatley definatley having to break it up into sessions when it comes down to shading it in but I think the outline needs to be done in one shot and I don't want to walk into the place with like 400 bucks and have them laugh at me or something unless that is reasonable. I've had the design in mind for 2 years now I'm actually old enough to get it finally and it's not my only tattoo

Well if you already have a design and artist in mind just go talk to him. Yell him what your idea is and find out what his rate is. He will be able to give you a rough estimate on it all. To be safe if I were you I would try to have 700 to 1k because you're probably looking at a good 5 hours give or take for the outline alone. And don't forget to tip your artist. If they don't own the shop then they usually only make 45-50% of the actual cost plus whatever you tip, and in my experience good tips leads to price breaks down the road.

Any chance of getting a 3rd full sleeve anytime soon? LOL
A few grand? Hell most of my full sleeve shirts only cost me $20 but I like short sleeve.

OK OK yeah those are bad.

If it was me (it never will be) I would choose to use the newer more expensive dye that can be removed more easily. It is still permanent and will never fade but it can be removed if you so desire someday. Look into it.

^ that sounds sketchy black and grey comes out easier anyways though.

He said the outline can be done for 300 I'm pretty happy about it. From there on out I'll just do sessions when I can afford until it's done. I need to go back before he draws it out though because i forgot to mention some details.

Plan on getting a halfsleeve. Never liked the look of a full sleeve though.

I have one full and one half way done and I can tell by far the best price you can get for most places is by askin to book a day and usually I would get tattooed as long as I can sit.

I'm in the process of getting a leg (knee to ankle sleeve) day of the dead theme. I'm only at 6hrs and Ive already spent $900 at $150 per hr. Each tattoo varies because of all the factors that play into it. I want it all to be color, so I'm looking at about 25-30 hrs
