One of my employees came in really sick. I called him and asked him to go home and get some rest. He never did. If I was in town I would have made him go home. That was a HELL of a week because one after another people started calling in.

LOL, this reminds me of my sister in-law coming over to our house about 7 years ago to drop something off, and I wouldn't let her in our house because she had a terrible head cold. As for me, I'm always the first one that will tell you to stay clear of me if I get sick. Anyhow, my wife got an earful from her about how I had hurt her feelings, blah, blah ... I don't give a rat's butt who it is, if you're sick stay the fvck away!!
One thing that helps tremendously is keeping lots of hand sanitizer around. I keep a bottle in both of my cars and the wife's car, and inevitably it's the first thing I reach for after getting in my car. Might be leaving a client, gym, gas station, it don't matter, it's as basic of a habit now as putting on the seat belt.

Dude when your child arrives, that is when you need to lay down the law and get your wife to back it up as well. You don't even need to get your newborn sick from those insensitive a-holes. And even if she wont back you up stress it to them anyways. DON'T COME VISIT US IF ANY OF YOU ARE SICK!

That's pretty ignorant of them, I feel your frustration. Pretty well every time I get sick it is thanks to some hero that comes to work sick as a dog (we get several paid sick days per year) because they have their nose so far up the bosses a$$ and never stop to think the their coworkers may not want to get sick. Aholes!

Dude, I would just slam the door in their face if my girls family tried to come over sick. It's not being a prick, it's having rules and following them.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
That being said there is no Ned to over expose yourself or kid if not necessary.
