http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2yN7...eature=related
This is probably going to be terrible. The first one was one of my favorites growing up.

Yeah i'm aware of this. Looks pretty stupid and I don't like the idea of a remake of this. The first two were just fine. The 3rd was crap, but eh...

I turned it off when I saw that Peter Weller was not Robocop, and it was a PG-13 movie.

There's a rumor that "Bloodsport" is being remade too. If that's true, I will give up on Hollywood forever.

Oh christ. Another shat remake. I walked out of total recall. The fact that Hollywood thinks people will like this crap is insulting.

Total Recall, Robocop, Red Dawn, Judge Dread, rumor is they are doing a Top Gun revisit. JFC don't studios know there are a lot of original content that can be made without breaking the bank that WILL make money?!?!? Just stop paying 80 million on effects.

Top Gun will make me cry. Best movie ever. Talk of a new terminated as well. But there is hope, rumor is James Cameron would be back and asked Arnold if he'd do new terminated based on his character. Who knows.

Yeah the first 2 were amazing! There was a real art style to the first two, and a violent super fun total blood and guts thrill ride.
Problem with the 3rd was that not only was Peter Weller not Robocop, but they turned the movie into a PG-13 goofball fest, and made the movie aimed more towards kids and children. Turned Robocop into a freaking kiddie hero movie. That's NOT what Robocop was supposed to be! Robocop is supposed to be much like Judge Dredd - a gritty dark violent thrill ride.

Oh for sure. That kind of violence was VERY rare back then in movies. And actually... it still is today. Very rarely do you see even modern movies today with scenes like that. When I first saw that scene, it did invoke a disturbing feeling but also that horrific feeling of helplessness due to the the situation surrounding his demise at the beginning, with him being just completely at the mercy of those bad guys with no hope. The perfect setup for his downfall and then resurrection. I actually got the same feeling in the 2nd movie when they cornered him in that abandoned industrial place and chopped him up.
And that's why movies like Robocop do not need to be remade or rebooted or what have you. Because it got it down so well from the beginning right off the bat. I am completely in favor of remakes for movies that can actually be remade and deserve a remake (Judge Dredd being a perfect example) because the first shot wasn't so good. But, Robocop? Total Recall? Movies like these were incredible, and there was nothing wrong with them. They don't need to be remade. They were even about to do a remake of Escape From New York but the development fell through the cracks, thank god for that! Terminator remake? I'm sorry but no, still doesn't sound like a good idea if James Cameron and Arnold were to create it again. Remake shit that deserves to be remade, but leave the stuff that was good off the bat ALONE.

There should be an unwritten rule that you CANNOT remake any Arnold, Van Damme, Stallone, Steven Seagal, or Chuck Norris movies.

Yeah that pretty much describes the third one. If they want to remake a Robocop movie, they should redo that one.
Well I'm for remaking the Seagal movies, those ones for the most part suck. But the rest of them, well they need to pass a law in California banning those companies from ruining those movies by remaking them

Well worse as in.. in the late 80s those were some pretty realistic effects... now with todays standards I laughed at just about every scene.
