Yeah, they advertise for 'mixologists' in ireland too, stupid fvcki title. Here in Dublin if you get into high end boutique hotels you could make a lot ad a bar manager

I'd like to not only agree with The Godfathers post but also take it one step further. How many bars/clubs/lounges are offering 401k plans, medical and dental benefits, and a nice pension? ALMOST zero. I know someone above me posted something about the Casino bartenders getting all those luxuries, and I find that hard to believe. I was born and raised in Atlantic City, and when a female bartender starts to get old, and lose her looks and charm, her ass is kicked to the curb immediately and replaced with a hot 21 year old piece of ass that will bring the bar more revenue than the washed up "has been" broad. It's how it works. Do you guys really think these club and bar owners give a shit about you? Absolutely not - they want whoever will bring them the most revenue and who ever will ring in the most drinks in a night. The better a bartender looks = the more $ everyone makes.
So when these washed up broads lose their bar tending jobs when they're in their 30's - what the hell is the game plan? I'd love to know.....

Bronzer I so rarely agree with you that I love oportunities like this when I do agree! Even forgetting that you turned this into yet another derogatory post about women, I do agree with your point that this is not the type of job that you retire from and therfore by definition NOT a career. I have yet to see a 52 year old man behind the bar talking about how he has been doing this for 30 years and is looking forward to retiring with a nice little retirment lol. Unless he owns the place!
There is a big difference between a hotel and or resteraunt manager than a BARTENDER! Grown men plan for their future and find solid CAREER paths. Some may grow up faster than others but such is life.

I know semi agreeing with me had to kill you, lol. But back to business here - so many bartenders get offered management positions but turn it down because of the pay cut and never really think long term. My ex was 26, and tended bar at one club I bounced at. She would pull anywhere from $300-$500 a night, putting her somewhere over a $1k a week CASH. The owner approached her several times asking her to take the GM position, starting her off at $45k a year with full benefits and a 2 week vacation. She would quickly turn it down because she was only thinking of the short term cash. I tried explaining to her over and over that depending on other peoples tips to keep your electricity on and pay your bills is no way to go through life. She thought I was nuts because she didn't wanna take the pay cut. The last I heard was that she got fired for coming in drunk or something and is now working for a law firm making $10 an hour....with no education higher than a GED..
See, these people get SUCKED into this lifestyle. Most of them start off doing it to pay for college, support a child, or do it as a part time job to pay for a new car or something. However, when these people (notice I said PEOPLE, lunk - not women) see all of this cash rolling in every night that doesn't get taxed, they became fixated on it and think the $ will never stop rolling in, which it inevitably does...

Don't even get me started on that word. I just reactivated my facebook after a year of being absent. Any broad who gets half naked photos taken by some half-ass photographer thinks they're a big shot model now. You are not a model - you are a SUCKER.
NJ is home of the bartenders, "models", and hair stylist with zero education or aspirations in life.

Women have whore tendencies similar to men. Based on today's society, any self respecting women should stay away from clubs and seek partners in a more casual sort of way...like the grocery store or gym
In my opinion no woman that goes to the club every weekend and hooks up with random guys is girlfriend potential...Last edited by Shsm; 09-30-2012 at 12:51 AM.

And that's one concept that I have a hard time grasping, but I'm going to have to. I for one, have never been the type to go club hopping every weekend and pick up random skanks. Maybe because I've been in clubs and bars for work purposes too damn much, but the whole "fvck as many sluts as ya can" motto has really never been my thing. One quality woman is better than an army full of hewas any day. I don't have an issue with women having a "piece" every now and then or someone they call up strictly for sex. I've had a few and I don't blame women for having one either - it's the women that need a different dick every night that really make me shake my head. A lot of has to do with attention, and guys are just as bad with this attention shit too. Christ, I have a friend who refuses to go out when he's off cycle, but when he's pumping up a ton of tren and winny, he's out every night wearing medium shirts fishing for compliments...

here in oz, you have to get your RSA ( responsible service of alcohol) to be a bartender, they basically tell you to not serve alcohol to drunk people.... lol wtf how do you think they got drunk...
