bodybuilding and TV
why don't they have workout programs and bodybuilding shows anymore on TV? i can remember when i was a youngster watching all the superstars in bodybuilding, and some had TV segments with tips and lifting techniques. do yall think that it is steroids that caused this to disappear from mainstream media? i loved watching that asian woman work it!

I think the popularity has dwindled. The small segment that likes seeing it can get it on the interwebs, it all about adverstizing dollars for the networks. I think steriods have a little to do with it, but ppl still like to see the "freak" factor.

Bodybuilding is such a tiny niche market. It has probably gotten smaller since the guys went for all out mass. Even I have pretty much lost interest in watching bodybuilding.
I would definitely watch shows if they were on, especially if they did a reality show that followed a couple of guys for a year training and preparing for a contest or two. The problem is they would need to shy away from the steroid use .

I don't like reality shows, but this might interest me. The steroid use is pretty much a given. Not sure how you could televise that openly?

there was something like (i think a documentary) on some station (really can't recall) where this man in his 30-40's was going to a HRT doc. i will have to try to find it on youtube. i want to say it was about 2 years ago. they showed everything and even went over blood work. wish i could recall!

They aired a show on TV that featured a few guys that were using AAS. One was an aspiring fitness model, one was a gay guy trying to meet a high beauty standard and one was a fighter (I think). They discussed it openly (obviously, since it was the core message of the show) and showed injections and gear.
In the end the message was "it isn't worth it" but they did a decent job on the show.
