Maybe also some health advice, like what tests should women specifically get, or the long-term implications of early menopause - how can we look after heart and bone health without compromising our gains?

Slightly off-topic, I'd like to explore the possibility of competing in federations besides the NPC, but all I can find are tested.

This has really got me fired up to do an article on general female use, actually! I don't believe we yet have any writeups like this. If it won't be my next writeup, it will definitely be the one after. This topic has really caught my attention big time.

Wish I could but there is limited data and research out there. Much of what has been discovered and written about has shown that Myostatin (or rather, the lack thereof) has different results in different species. Very low Myostatin doesn't have any dramatic effects on muscle mass increases in comparison to rats and mice (this is because - as far as I remember from the studies I read - that mice/rats already have stupid high amounts of Myostatin compared to humans, which obviously results in significant mass differences). The other issue in humans is that Myostatin has been found to play a role in maintaining proper connective and joint tissue function. In the presence of severely lowered Myostatin, connective and joint tissue degenerates very fast. This isn't something very good for those of us engaging in heavy lifting and sports. I'd love to write about it at some point in the future when further research is done and we have more data out there.

    hi Atom
if you are still deliberating, i have a suggestion.

maybe you could design a study to be conducted on our pool of members. maybe some sort of questionnaire to be answered on pm, collecting data on stats and cycle history, and current total test status, whether on trt, ...that sort of thing.

you can design it in such a way to study if cycling before 25yrs old really does increase risk of ending up with trt.
you can design it to study how many cycles people run before ending up with trt.

the possibilities are endless. and the pool of members are just here, with so much info waiting to be tapped.

Cycling in general at any age increases risk of trt..

Great ideas, and is definitely something to look into and keep in mind for the future but it unfortunately falls into the category of anecdotal evidence. There's also a gigantic pool of variables between the individuals recorded in this survey that would determine how their bodies responded to cycles and ended up on TRT (or not). But it definitely would be interesting to at the very least conduct a survey like this, and have the raw stats and data up there to just be able to see.

i figured designing and conducting a new study, be it cross-sectional or prospective, would be a lot more challenging and stimulating for you, compared to just another literature review or summary.

Yeah def... I'm on a cutting cycle right now and I'm planning on adding in a low dose of masteron soon.
Some good talking points for females...
How aas... Effect more than just your build, during cycle you experience irregularities in your menstral cycle, oily face, constipation... No one ever talks about the side effects you have to get use to dealing with through out the cycle.

Another great talking point is so many females on here have this misconception that steroids make you thin or skinny... Diet and cardio do that. I see numerous posts that say things like my wife, gf, female friend want to lose weight and I think , var, test, primo, winny, masteron, eq, dbol , tool , etc (I think you get my point) will help her get toned... It's like um no exercise does that. I don't think people fully understand how you look as a female when you take steroids. I don't look like a man. I look feminine but I look strong and muscular. I don't look skinny, thin, frail or anything else related to that. I have an athletic appearance. People need to understand that. Don't expect to look like an Olsen twin on steroids.

Another good talking point would be general weight training myths women hear. Do light weights and a lot of reps.. Um no. I lift as heavy as I can and push myself and I constantly get compliments on my physique.

That's all I can think of for right now.

That is an incredible post. I am taking notes! Some of this stuff intrigues me, like the mention of certain side effects in women that men would never experience. The mechanisms behind that would be a learning experience for me too as I research it. Great suggestions.

Thanks, yeah the sides are different from a male for sure, some weird stuff happens during a cycle lol all in all everything's bareable but it's like you have to be ready for some odd stuff to happen here and there.

Well, the truth is that it is to be expected. You are, after all, putting a male hormone into your body that isn't supposed to be there. Same thing happens when a man consumes Estrogen.

You mentioned experiencing the side effect of constipation - is this something commonly experienced by female AAS users or is it something more rare? This is one of the ones I haven't heard of before and i'm really curious if this is one such side effect that is frequent (or not).

I actually read up on it... A few different times that oral steroids in general can do that... I'm on a var cycle and I also looked up if that's a particular side to var and it is, I don't know if it's gender specific but I know it's dead on accurate because I had to up my fiber intake and basically double it while on a cycle.

I figured it was probably associated (mostly) with oral AAS. Any medicine (or even food) ingested orally has the potential to cause constipation as a side effect. I'm currently on Anavar and I THINK I am experiencing this as well. But then again, I am carb cycling and on my zero carb days, protein is increased significantly and we all know what that can do. So, I can't gauge properly if this is the Anavar or not.

I've been carb cycling too and before I started the var I still needed fiber but not nearly as much as I take in now, and that was the only variable that changed my situation when I started getting super constipated lol ... Not the most lady like Convo but yeah I def think its the var hands down.

In member cycles I posted my var cycle and the side effects so if you read it and have questions Lmk, I researched most of the sides that have happened to me but some of it is some weird stuff for sure.

I will check it out for sure, thanks! Keep me updated on any good AAS information as it pertains to female use as well. Going to compile bits information as it comes to me for my future write-up.
