Tatoo this weekend. How long before I can train again

I am getting it where my neck meets my chest. My last couple of tats I was a lazy shit and not training.

Tatoo artist is telling me 14 days until I can lift again. Its so long it makes me not want to get a tatoo.

    Anyone agree disagree?

Should I cut back on calories? 14 days is such a long time. I have been going 9 months strong here. Need to stick with it

really? she is telling me the ink will run and wont set right.

She just did a body builder and she told him not too lift. Guy came back 3 days later and everything was running. Tried blaming her. Maybe she is being over cautious with me.

Depending on how much work you get done, ie 20 minutes? or 6-10 hours, i can assure you that after 6 hours you will be too sore to think about training the next day.

I always gave it 2-3 days.

We agree to disagree. I did chest after the first and shoulder today. Skin was tight.

I agree. Start with legs and then maybe back that way you'll give it a bit more rest. Try not to sweat too much either.

As for your PTT (Post Tattoo Therapy)
Your tattooist should cover it in Bepanthen or a similar substance, then put plastic film on it, Remove film after 1 hr, wash, leave for 10 minutes wash again, and then apply PAW PAW BALM every 1-2 hours or when it is no longer moist to touch.

Thats how ive been doing it, have not had one single scab, and stay out of the sun goddamnit!

I disagree with your tat artist. i have a number of tats and i would just be carefull not to do any exercise that is going to cause the scabs to stretch and tear. if you do that and the tat starts ti bleed, then some of the ink can run and the tat will be lighter in that area where the scab was streched and the ink ran out. but as long as your carefull not to make that happen, i dont see any reason why i would wait more then a day or two if it where me.

My training > tattoos I can always get it touched up. But the guilt of missing days at the gym is with me forever!

I've lifted the same day after getting inked. That's not advisable because the wound is still exposed and sweating could promote bacterial infections. If you want to play it safe, within 3 days, scabbing should start which will reduce the chance of infection, but like Cape, I usually lift the next day and haven't had any problems.

I'm no tattooist but I don't see how the ink could run. It penetrates several layers of skin so I don't understand how it could possibly run.

I have never had a full open wound scab? like a build up of hard scabby shit? i would be getting worried about my artists quality if I ever got a scab?

My gunner goes pretty deep into the skin and has a heavy hand. By open wound I was referring to the fact that immediately after a tattoo there is trauma to the skin and sweating from lifting would increase the risk of a local infection.

I get a superficial scab. Nothing like a dense build up but still a surface scab.

This girl I am trying out has incredible work. The detail is some of the best I have seen. She is also smoking hot with a latina body. Voluptous big boobs. Her bf is such a freak he watches all of her tatoos bc every guy hits on her.

    Yep I gotcha.

It seems odd, but i have never had any scabby build up at all, I get the tattoo, clean it after the first hour, apply this 'Paw Paw Balm for 3-5 days, every 2-3 hours, until it all peels, like a bad sunburn, and then bio-oil 3x daily for 2-3 weeks, and then morning/nightly for 2-3 months.
