Oh brother !
Do you use the word brother? What does it mean to you ?
I recently got talking to a bloke in my gym, he's OK, I like listening to what he has to say, but now he has started calling me "bro", I'm not sure how I feel about this as I've only known him a short while. Now the second point is that he isn't using AAS . So is bro uses for gym goers or steroid users ?

A lot of guys use "bro" very casually. It doesn't mean anything. It is like "dude." I know a lot of young car guys that constantly say "bro" in the same way that bodybuilders seem to.

I will use brother with men I know well. I don't use bro at all.Not exclusive to aas. He shouldn't be calling you bro.IMO

Bro and brah have simply become mainstream terms anymore. While Bro for years has been associated with "someone kool or gtg in the AAS world" it has really blown up for sure to to the late,no so great, dbag that all the kiddies look up 2!
Brother used in it's entirety is something I may use myself when greeting an actaul friend but am not a big fan of bro or brah unless I'm in a zyzz mood lol!

Just a casual term I use with someone I like or I'm comfortable with. No different than "brother", "man", "dude", "boss", "big dawg", "buddy", "bud", etc...
Hate the word "brah" though

Next time he's bench pressing, you go up like you're gonna give him a spot, and push the bar down within 1/16" of an inch, ahh shit I mean 2mm (i forgot your Queen makes you guys use the metric system) and keep it on his neck and say look here asshole, you dont call me bro until you start pinning some gear you fu*kin *****, that words reserved for those of us on the dark side, so as long as you're in the light, you address me as MISTER MR-FQ320...
Shit, I forgot you're British....so I suppose what I just said wont make sense to the guy if you say it, so instead try this with the bar on his neck... "Eyyyyy u ****in wankah, dont call me bro unless u fancy a beatin, bro tis reserved for us gents on the dark side, so as long as yee tis in the light, yee shall address me as Sir Lord MR-FQ320...
That should do it...

I hate that f*cking word. The only person I call my 'bro' is my actual brother.
I've told people to stop calling me that before but it's so mainstream nowadays I just gotta let it slide.
People that I would consider 'brothers' (and are not blood related ones) are guys I've been in serious brawls and other messed up situations with... and you wanna know what the weirdest thing is? We don't even call each other 'bro'.
"Don't bro me if you don't know me" <--- I wish people lived by that nowadays.

If you're (or anyone for that matter) uncomfortable being called bro, you should get a sissy name like twat or sweetcheeks after that. I'm guessing you're on cycle and maybe a little more ruffled than usual. Otherwise I cant understand why anyone would mind being called bro, brotha, brother, brohim, bro-job... Ok that last one is gay but u get the drift bro
