Jack Reacher
Had low expectations going in and I was really surprised at how good of a movie this was.
Its a crime drama and the story is pretty solid. Been awhile since I have seen a good movie minus a comic book chracter
Def check it out

I've read all the books.
Tom Cruise is NOT Jack Reacher. He's a freaking pip squeak.
Plus I don't like Tom Cruise.
I won't be going to see this.
The critics rate this movie as only so~so

Love Tom Cruise and expect to really enjoy this one. Also want to see the scifi coming out with Cruise where he is some kind of post apocalyptic scout. Also on list Brad Pitt's zombie movie coming up as well as the Mad Max movie coming in 2013 with the guy who played Bane as Max. Good times ahead.
I know some people legitimately don't like his acting or whatever and I can accept that, but I think its in bad taste how the media tore him down to nothing because of his religion and how he jumped on a couch to show his love for his girl at the time. The media loves to take someone at the top and bring them down to nothing to less than nothing and laugh the whole time.

Mate,
Hate to break it to you, but Scientology is NOT a religion, regardless what Scientologies attorneys claim. It is tax dodge, like the NFL, so that they won't have to pay their due to the IRS!!
In short, think of religion as a bridge between humanity and spirituality, in which life transcends the physical world into something greater.
Scientology, if you do not already know, was "created" by L Ron Hubbard, noted Sci~Fi author. Whatever Scientology "is", it is also a vehicle that has helped rip off countless people, seperating them from their cash.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology
Tom Cruise is not only a fanatical member of Scientology, but also a spokesperson.
One of the basic complaints of Katie Holmes, ultimately driving the marriage into divorce, was her concern that Mr. Cruise wanted to put their kid into an "indoctrination" boot camp of sorts. This is a common practice of parents in the movement.
http://exscientologykids.com/
As you can see if you follow the above link, these kids "escaped" the reach of their parents and Scientology, and now have a support network to help them adjust to life outside this cult.
If you know anything about the explosion of the self help groups from the 70's, you would understand that Dienetics/Scientology is simply one of these groups taken a step further.
I detest Tom Cruise, and everything he stands for. And he is one arrogant son of a b1tch!

If you try to argue that scientology is a money reaping cult I'm probably not going to be able to argue successfully against you.
But I will argue for Tom Cruise because I think he's a decent human being.
Theres a famous clip where Tom rants against anti depressants and post havingababy depression and he tells that **** rag Matt Lauer "You're so glib Matt.. you're so glib". What a lot of people don't understand (and I do because I read halfway through the first book that they try to sign you up with with the scientology) is that Cruise is referring to the ability of the mind to overcome negative feelings and experiences through self exploration. I"m not going to pretend to be an expert because I read half a book on some junk and I'm paraphrasing, but it talks about how you can unlock your mind so maybe if you had a bad experience as a child you no longer let it influence your thought processes by acknowledging it and defeating it. Obviously I am giving a very vague explanation but a lot of the scientology stuff really is just advanced psychology theories. Its stuff like the power of positive thinking and believing in yourself. So to tie it back to Brooke Shield's thing about depression and we need drugs, Tom was just saying based on his own experience you can beat that stuff with the mind and positive thinking it just came out like crap in that interview. So Scientology In short its exactly what you said yourself "self help group.. taken a step further". I don't think he's an arrogant SOB at all in that context he just has his own beliefs and he normally shuts his mouth but this one time he thought he would speak up and ever since then he's been beaten down as a SOB that he's not. Just my 2 cents. Matt Lauer is a glib shit head I mean look at that dumb shit he said to Anne Hathaway about her coochie shot making the enquirer. Theres a lot of dirt bag celebs I hate and I could spout them off Tom just isn't one of them.

Ha! This is the premise of Scientology, and for a price, they can help your mind heal itself!!!
but the bottom line is that "positive thinking" only goes so far. After a certain point, an individual needs professional help, quite often couupled with the proper meds. It is a proven fact a schizophrenic cannot will himself to get better just by thinking positively. Same goes for autistic people. In fact, there is a whole segment of society that scientology is absolutely useless due to real physiological abnormalities in the brain. So, Scientology, at it's best, can really only "help" relatively normal people. This is the same shit you see with Christian Scientists that think they can pray away medical problems with their children, and then the children ulitmately die due to prayer cannot heal type1 diabetes.
The whole premise of scientology is bogus, created by L Ron Hubbard so he can make money when he created Dianetics and con people out of their money by telling them they can get past traumas from current and past lives through the process of an audit or clearing.
I've been around along time mate, and know first hand how dangerous these self help gurus can be.
Google EST, and you'll find this from Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erhard_Seminars_Training
it was fouunded by a used car sales man later changing his name to Werner Erhard. A similar cult as Scientology. He ended up totally ripping off his "congregation" and is now (and has been) on the run from the law.
Playing the "Guru" game is a very dangerous one for the followers. Need I remind you of the "Rev" Jim Jones?
Tom Cruise, is an unwitting mouthpiece for this crazy cult group. He has been fully brainwashed, and has 100% drank the coolaide. The problem with Mr. Cruise is that given his popularity and being in the media as much as he is, people look up to him and give him more credit than he deserves.
I stand by my position that Tom Cruise is an indoctronated, arrogant fool.Last edited by Times Roman; 12-29-2012 at 04:06 PM.

I dont even feel like arguing with you Roman I just want to cuddle you like the big teddy bear you are. Did you get the milk and cookies I left out by the fireplace? I appreciate the Superman jewelry.
You know Tom Cruise I dunno dude really only he knows and a couple of other people. Maybe Katie will give an interview in depth some day if she didn't sign too many confidentiality agreements. There is something to be said about that getting rid of negative experiences stuff. I go to AA and people say the same thing about it and I don't mean to bring it in here. Scientology is a totally different thing. But in AA some people call AA a cult and the point of it is to release those demons. So its hard for me to not want to believe Tom is well meaning and he's trying to help people like he has been helped to overcome some insecurities some anxieties some feelings of not being good enough etc etc. Then again AA is completely free unless you choose to buy the books and whatnot so I see that Scientology is a business and maybe they are conning people and brainwashing people I really have not been in there sitting with them and chanting and singing and reading their junk so I am just going off what I see.

I just can't take Tom Cruise seriously. I'm probably gonna go see it but unfortunately his public persona has ruined it already.
