You ever grow up and realize
Some of your teachers were coming in every day high as a ****in kite?
I had this one history teacher in high school would come in stoned out of his mind every day. Red eye veins drugged out unblinking stare and would take like 5-10 seconds to respond to any question.

I grew up on a large island on Canada's west coast, which was surrounded by small islands with tiny hippie communities accessed by water taxi. One of my high school teachers lived on one of these islands, and it was well known that not only was he wasted all the time, but grew it and gave it to other teachers. He had long hippy hair and a beard, a single gear bicycle with a woven basket, and painted his nails. Ironically one of the best teachers I've ever had. He truly cared.

Oh yes, I noticed this A LOT. Think about the job many teachers have, and how monotonous it can get, how frustrating it can get dealing with students (depending on which type of teacher you are it can be VERY BAD). There are other similar jobs that are like this, where you need to be either stoned or on happy pills to get through your days. A lot of drinking too. I remember smelling gin off one teacher's breath once, and this was upon entering class at about 9:00 in the morning! 9AM and this teacher was already sucking back on grandpa's old cough medicine.
To get through some jobs on a daily basis, you just need that buzz or high to pull through it. Obviously this shouldn't be the case if you're a truck driver or in some job operating dangerous machinery of vehicles, but yeah...
I've got TONS of stories, but i'd be breaking the board rules if I started talking about them because i'd be mentioning every recreational drug known to man that i've seen and known teachers, personal trainers, zamboni drivers (best job in the world if you want to be stoned/buzzed while doing it), landscapers, call center reps (you NEED to be baked to be doing that, I knew one guy who would mix two different rec drugs to get through his days), video store clerks (not so much using stuff to try to get through your day as much as its just fun because you're watching movies all day), car rental agents (I knew one who was a riot because of this), and IT jobs where you sit at a computer all day. I've known at least one person in all of these listed fields who got stoned, buzzed, shitfaced, wasted, wired, bombed, hammered, and smashed while on the job just to get through it. Man, do I have stories...

Oh, I also knew one particular feller who worked in the sales department of a gym I once worked at a number of years ago who's drug of choice to get him through his days was Viagra. He'd sit at his desk in his office and stroke his carrot all day to get through the day because there was a 3 month period where the gym was not getting very many people coming in to inquire about memberships. So, what's a guy to do?

I wish just ONE of my teachers would have blazed every day. Every teacher I had was uptight and boring

I tried working full-time as a personal trainer for a whole year once (I am NEVER DOING THAT BULLSHIT AGAIN), I think I mentioned it to you before, and I was so glad I have prescription amphetamines because just to get through the monotonous days and deal with a typical client base of 90% unmotivated morons that were very difficult to deal wtih, I would HAVE to get wired on speed to pull through. When I was doing it at first without the chemical assistance, I was ready to shoot myself.

I had a teacher who was a "free soul".
One of the most down to earth and thought provoking people I've ever met.
If all teachers were that good, more people would have a easier time in school.

Never had a teacher or instructor that seemed like they were on anything. Can't say I'm missing out.

My old roommate used to sell herb to our college Ethics professor. Ironic eh? We never went to class and when we did we "met up" with him before class. Easiest "A" I've ever gotten.
I also used to work at a pub that many teachers frequented. I'd regularly serve a few highly respected professors Black n Tans all day then they'd leave to teach top level classes.
