Getting a new dog tonight!!!! cleaning up and setting up as we speak. I'm just so fired up i thought I'd share with you guys. Lost my last dog in August so it's time to have a new furry girly in my life.

You know, i didn't think I was ready. I just went and looked for the sake of looking, not expecting to really go ahead and adopt, but as soon as a saw her I knew.

Nice! Dogs can bring a level of companionship most women never will haha. What kinda dog? I get my pup in July, can't wait!

She's a beauty!! slept through the night. Guess I'm up to 2 hours of cardio a day now She had an accident in the spare bedroom, but I think it's just from the stress of a new home. She's barely moved since our 1hr walk this morning. I think she's gonna be a great friend.

Crate training is the best and most effective way to housbreak a dog...

Not at all...I remember how you felt when it happened. I'm sure that you feel like I do...I dont know if I'm ready to deal with that loss that comes way to soon with animals. Besides I'm not sure with things in my life that have changed since we had a puppy last, that it would be fair for the dog. We are home very rarely now and I dont have near the time to devote to a dog. These considerations must always be considered!

Dude do you have any idea how expensive they are here?
My wife looked into getting me 1 last year they start around £2500 sterling for the runt of the litter and the price just rises depending on the parents

My border terrier "buzz" was £400 and he's superb

Yeah, those bulldogs are damn expensive! My roommate a couple years back paid $4000 and on top of that was at the vet well over a dozen times in the first 6-8months with various health problems.

Thank you, she is gorgeous. I would have loved to get a pic of her up and about, but she's a typical Grey and wants to sleep all day. She's fresh retired from the racetrack, so she's seeing the world for the first time; it's really amazing watching her react to everyday things like stairs and cars!!!! 2 days and I already have her pretty decent on the leash. A couple of accidents inside. She seems like she doesn't want us to see her go pee. Started the crate training though and giving her bacon and butter when she goes outside so I think I'll have her housebroken in no time!!!

yeah, she's not quite a puppy but still a teen, just 2 years old. She's getting better at being a house pet by the minute; it's just really stressful because she's used to a kennel and a racetrack, so it's a bit of a sensory overload. She's definitely fast, but she can't shake a stick to my last Grey. My last one still holds speed records and win records at a track in Kansas.

Yes they are. I currently have four bitches and bread a liter once every year and a half and have them shown in conformation. They're like little fat people and have a very high opinion of themselves.

Unfortuantaly PB doesn't interest her. So far just butter, bacon, and now wet dog food.

You're probably lucky. Every time I get the PB out for myself and not her she gives me the "sad" eyes.. lol

She loves Tripe too (the natural kind from a pet store, the processed human kind is bad for them). We mix it in her food sometimes and she devours it. Our vet recommended it and everything I've read says its great for them. Might be worth a shot if she's reluctant to eat dry or as a treat sometimes.
