Some states just suck.....
So I'm in IL....
*Worst murder rate in the country.
*Illegal to carry a firearm and can't own one unless you wanna bend over and spread your butt cheeks.
*Taxes are outrageous- all of them. Today they are trying to include a $0.25 tax on tennis shoes on top of the 9.25% sales tax.
*Housing is way over priced especially in the city.
*Traffic sucks.
*Despite all these taxes- state is broke.
*Toll roads are everywhere and the tolls are outrageous.
*Weather sucks.
I'm trying to figure out why I moved here and why I still live here....

It costs me $14.00 a day in tolls to go to work and back home... and I pay $550 a month for a parking spot at work; not kidding. My office is downtown so I have two choices; park 7 blocks away and pay $15.00 a day or $550 a month for the parking garage next to my office building.

I'll have to second that. I spent almost all my life just on the other side of the hudson. only 4 min. from the lincoln tunnel into manhatten. I stoped going over there because its complete bullshit. Between tolls, gas, and parking you have to drop about $50 before you even do anything! Everything in everystore is ridiculously overpriced. $10 for a pack of smokes, $10 for a lousy hamburger, its ridiculous..Oh, and lets not forget, gas 4.25 a gallon. And all this to be in a shithole nieghborhood cause lets face it, that whole island is a dump

Chicago's the same way as NY. Might be a little cheaper but not much. For what I pay in rent here I can own a $1M 10 bedroom house in the south. Smokes are $10 here, liquor is nuts ($8.00 more a bottle than in GA for Jack Daniel's), and its simply not worth it in anyway. Chicago doesn't have much to offer other than bars are open till 6:00 am. Other than that- no benefit in living here. Too much traffic, too much tax, too much rent.... better off living in the south. I'm moving back to GA and haven't even found a job yet. I'm better off living down in GA and taking half the salary than staying in Chicago. I'll move and worry about a job when I get to GA. I have options and enough money saved that it makes no sense to stay in IL and waste half my income in taxes and rent.

I like the country myself... rather live on a farm providing the farm is close enough to civilization. That's what I like about GA, can be in the sticks and back downtown in 15 min.

CA has many of the same issues that are mentioned above (except no worries with the oral sex). The crazy thing is, the people keep electing the same bozos that can't do anything right with this state. Gov Brown looks to be going forward with his train from hell, going from the middle of the desert to Las Vegas. We have businesses and people with money leaving in the groves, and no $$ coming in, but a train is the best we can do.
