Yeah, love them and don't worry you'll get the 405. The first time I tried it was end of last november. Wasn't even close with bouncing etc, in fact I missed 385 the first try but got it a second with crappy form and a major bounce. 2 and a half months later to do them paused with room in the tank! I basically put 50 lbs on my pause bench.

I used to combine the two for insane weight, board press with bands. Then one day I decided to do board with bands and in a bench shirt. That was over three years ago, 3500 dollars later I realized that wasn't ever worth doing again, so I don't get that crazy anymore.

If you did those reps on the way up then you got 405 in the bag if you warm up properly next time!

That jump from 365 to 405 felt like 200lbs!

3 plates seperates boys from girls...4 plates seperates man from child...5 plates seperates beast from man!

Good for you that's quite the accomplishment, I once maxed out at 390lbs but never broke 400. I need to get my power back at that level again.

I warmed up. Through 225, then did 275x3 then 315x1 365x1 385x1 then 405x1x2. I started doing them paused at 315 otherwise there would have been more reps. Wanted to replicate comp form.

Just to give you another heads up I did 365x5 pretty easily several weeks ago. That should give you a nice indicator you are getting close.

Sucked though after 365x5 being easy, shortly after when I did 365x1 with the pause it was ridiculous hard at first.

Okay big guy.... try this... grab a dumbbell in one hand like you're gonna do a curl. Now keeping your arm straight (don't lock out elbows though) lift the dumbbell straight up in front of you to chest level. Think front shoulder raise but with your palms upward lifting the dumbbell.... how much weight can those little pectorals of yours lift....
