Just landed on it wrong. That's the worst part to lol, it was a freak accident. Nobody to blame but since it has more come out twice my chance of needing surgery and it coming out again sky rockets.

I landed on mine 2x in 10 minutes once up skiing. I stopped at the edge of a 12ft cliff and SLOWLY slid over landing on my face/rt shoulder on solid packed snow/ice. Knocked the wind out of me. 10 minutes later I'm skiing down further and go over a little 8in bump just playing and was launched up into the air landing on the same shoulder. That was it I was done for the day. Went back an hour later to look at the little bump and it had grown to 4ft. lol I guess I bumped my head harder the 1st time than I had though.
Had an MRI done that week showing I had ripped/separated the tendon and fractured the ball. Luckily the orthopedic surgion said NO the tendon was not separated so no surgery. It took a good 6 months to get better though.

Mine was clean, thank God. They called it a clean normal dislocation. No funny business, simply popped out and they popped it back in. still sucks and yeah I won't be lifting for quite a while, knowing the retards in the army though they will probably try and make me run as soon as my sling is gone.
Already had one jackass be like "you dislocated your shoulder in combatives........" Being a complete douche to me.

Def. make sure you take the time to rehabilitate your shoulder correctly.
The first time of many, I dislocated my shoulder I fractured my coller bone as well, wrestling practice, coach pushed me back before the season was over and during a meet dislocated it again but this time I tore the ligiments.
Point is, I listened to my coach instead of the doctor and I have had a lifetime of trouble with my shoulder due to the damage that could have been avoided.
A little setback in progress now will pale in comparison to the limitations you will have later it you dont heal properly.

Thanks for that man, yeah i'm pretty level headed about this stuff. I'm just so damn frustrated that I won't be in the gym for so long.
And because i'm on profile people in the army think i'm a sh!!tbag. Of course I really don't care but its only a matter of time before everyone starts giving me sh!t.

I do 3 different rotator cuff exercises every other day and am about to incorporate knee rehab exercises I saw on youtube. The shoulder ones have given me a huge quality of life increase including pain reduction to where I can sleep at night.

I only go to the top of the movement and a little past back I don't do that crazy shit where he goes all the way past his back like hes double jointed I don't think my body is made to do that motion
There is a 4th one I just started doing I take a band and pretend I am pitching a ball with the band as very light resistance just to make my shoulder do that rotation because seriously how often does your shoulder do that motion if you aren't playing ball so I figure its good for the shoulder after Ive already warmed everything up with those three.
I do these on chest and shoulder day also but I only do a set or two to warm my body up since I don't want to tax the rotator cuff when he is going to probably be stressed during lifting for chest and shoulder that day. Now what I do do is I do cable rear delt and reverse pec deck first on chest or shoulder day after hearing a tip from greg valentino that this is the best thing you can do so warm all that shit up and prevent an injury to the stabilizer muscles before jumping into a bench press or whatever.
When I was probably 18 I was in college and I weighed maybe 130 lbs. I started getting into weights and after 2 or 3 months I wanted to start throwing weight on the bench so before I knew it with only lifting for a few months I am trying to move 225. That and doing behind the neck lat pull downs snapped my shit up I really didn't know my ass from a hole in the ground and all I can do is learn from it and take this prehab / rehab shit seriously.

That sucks, injuries are definitely a bitch. I've been pretty blessed to have always stayed healthy other than some minor stuff.
