Excited coming back after hernia surgery

I am just so excited to come back after this month off from the hernia operation. I went to the gym to see people on Friday and was like a kid in a candy store. I went over to the squat rack and put the bar on my shoulders ....oh I want to squat so bad. I just am fit to be tied.

I will be back in there working out on Wednesday the 10th this week. I have my new cycle planned and it will be a dirty bulk. I'm just tiered of being so small I lost almost ten (10) lbs. from not eating and not working out. I had no appetite and couldn't seem to force feed.
I should come back slow but that's going to be tough. I got a new belt that is wider and better to hold my stomach in.

I am going to front load so to speak doing my cycle by starting it Monday so I can get a kick start. As I've posted it will be Test, Deca , Dbol and liquidex. I've got a little cooler lunch box to carry around so I can eat every 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

Yep I have a plan even to go to bed earlier. So guys I think this all sounds good, but without consistence and the proper input it will all be for not. I gotta tell you all that this forum and you guys are my support. The others out there haven't a clue what it's about and they think I am just, well, CRAZY, Haa ! They think a man of 61 just should not be doing this and that's even not knowing about aas. I got clean and sober 1 year 5 months , come Tuesday the 9th and I tell you this is my life now. I just don't know what I would do without this sport.
SO ALL IN ALL, I hope I have all of you blessings and support. I'm fighting age ya know. My current Av is on my last week of training before the hernia 188 lbs. I am just crazed. Thanks for reading if you did ...crazy mike

I hate to claim the "dirty bulk" but I will be conscious but I don't eat much. I just can't seem to pack it in Calories. So some times I just have to push anything ? AS I said, right now I just want to grow to the extent that I look bigger in my cloths. Sort of old school, however I will try to be as clean as I can every chance I get. I know sounds crazy but....crazy mike, I'll stay healthy

OK Mike remember you are CRAZY so if it sounds like a good idea to you it probably isnt. If you doctor says NO it means no. If you are not sure then come here and ask us and you know we will tell you the truth.

Take it SLOW. Yeah you hear it all the time and we all KNOW better but it's the toughest rule to follow. I know due to my multiple surgeries also.

I will share my photo from today which shows where I'm starting.

As I previously posted I started back in the gym on Wed 4-10-13. Going light as the doc instructed. It's hard to find what to do at 25lbs. It's all confusing because how does it relate on machines , one hand two hands, standing, seated, bench curls etc..
You would be surprised at when you use your abs when you don't feel like you are.

I went in today after taking another 4 days off, and I do incline and flat bench and biceps and triceps. I went just a little heavier with incline and flat bench, ya know embarrassing to say, like 75 lbs., I'm on my back for God's sake, got a good belt on and do like 35 reps and then proceed down in weight with reps. It felt ok a little touchy but, not, more in my head. But I didn't feel good enough to ride the bike, at all !

So at home NOW it doesn't feel good. It's sore and uncomfortable. I'm thinking on not going in tomorrow for shoulders and traps and the bike. I just don't know what to do. I have two (2) more weeks until the doc said I can cut loose and o for it and lift what I can.
Help me think this. Should I just take another whole week off and do nothing so this will heal better or still keep up at the gym with light weight. It's not easy to do this. Take more days or week ???? ...crazy mike
I don't like the way it feels at all.

Yup it will take time. I know all to well what it's like to feel wierd using 5-10lb weights and using a bar only for benching. Thankfully the main gym I use is at work and there is no one around at 2am. When I finally went back to the real gym it had been well over a year since I had been there so everyone looked at me like the newbie and watching me because I was lifting so light.... It was funny though once I warmed up good and was sweating and had to take my sweat jacket off I got a lot of double takes because I was still bigger or in better shape than the majority of the guys there.

Just take it easy Mike. Dont push it, it's the worse thing you can do. Concentrate of form and exaggerated slow reps. It's amazing how heavy a 20lb dumbbell gets when it takes you a good 3 count to reach from top to bottom.

Thanks for the reply. Yep I'm up on all that but I kinda hurt a little tonight. I probably went to heavy. I think since it is so, not fun, and I'm maybe not doing it good, that I should just not go in at all for another week. Maybe just go in and ride the bike. I'm screwed for life it I f**k up. Once it's done it's done. So what do I have to loose by completely staying away and what to loose if I f**k up. better safe, ya think. crazy mike

check it out, my Av, Buddy is lookin at you...........cm

Nothing wrong with taking another week off. I have been there and a lot more. I spent 3 months where all I was allowed to do was look down at the ground. No driving, no sleeping on my back or side. I had to borrow a massage table and sleep with my face in the hole every night. I bought a 40" LED TV to lay on the ground to watch so I would not be tempted to look up and was not allowed to even touch light weights for like 6 months or risk rupturing the retina again.

Just take it easy. Dont even come close to lifting heavy. Forget about what people think or how it looks, just lift light when you start again. I'm serious, 5-10 lbs. for a few weeks and then only go up maybe 5lbs at a time every few weeks.

Got ya on that, I'm not going back at all this week, I decided a few minutes ago, when I was speaking to you and remembering what I had to gain and what I have to loose. I'm scared at the gym and it isn't fun. So it could do a lot for me if I just stay away. Thanks for this interaction. ... crazy mike

Mike, take it slow bro! My dad had hernia surgery and pushed things too fast with his work activities. He ended up tearing the area the surgeon had originally repaired. Now he has a piece of "fiberglass-like" fabric woven into his abs. It was the best they could do for him, but it looks terrible. He has a softball size protrusion sticking out of his gut. He really regrets that he did not give it time to heal on the first go-round.

I know it's a relief just to be back in the gym at all but it's tuff having to pace yourself and take things slow.

I myself am just getting back In the gym after a broken fibula and its great to be active again. 8 weeks sitting on the couch was torture!

Take it slow man, be careful! Your still in great shape for anyone coming back from surgery.
