Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D)
A fitting acronym, SAD. Does anyone else get the winter blues? I live in Michigan, so I see a good 6-7 months of little-to-no sunlight, and I'm miserable during all of them. My friends and family can all tell because I get more irritable and just seem less happy when the sun isn't out. I'm lethargic and sleep 3-4 more hours a day during the winter.
But man, when that sun starts poking out I perk up instantly. I have one of those white lights that I run when I'm at the computer, and I take 3000IUs of vitamin D a day during the winter, but they only seem to marginally help. Does anyone else have experience with this?
What do you do with the winter blues?

I spent some of my childhood living in Tennessee and I loved it. I had never been farther South than Nashville until February of this year when I spent a week in Orlando, FL. I talked it over with my girlfriend and we're both going to try to make the move sometime in the next couple years.

Well I just moved to Canada last fall from Australia and to top it off I moved to the coldest city there is and a winter that won't leave. I've been trying to keep focused on my training and play with my diet but I still have to tell myself many times a day that it will get better. But those -46C days and 6 feet of snow keep made it real tough. Keep yourself busy man and spend time with friends and family as often as you can

I live in the south and I still get it. I'd like it never to go below 70F lol.
Idk how you northern guys do it, fvck the cold!
I'm sure the sun perks you up when it finally comes out but I think it has something to do with females wearing less clothes as well......

There is some benefit to tanning, even in small amounts, that help with D production. No oral dose of vit. D is the same as what the body can produce via sun exposure.

Go tanning every once in a while..I find that relaxing and helpful during the winter months.

Ah yes, the dreadful cold dreary weather. My husband is stationed in Watertown New York. I went to visit in November And it was dreadful. I'm from Miami and now live in ft. Benning ga. I'd be happy if it stayed above 70 all year round. Rather be hot then cold any day
