So I go to this party last night......
.......and of course the comments on the physique. A couple of guys used the "S" word. I explain i've been hitting the weights now almost 5 (or is it 4) years now, so hell yeah there better be some improvements. Later that night, this huge blob of a guy wants to be my new gym buddy. He was drunk, I was buzzing, but I still try to be kind. I tell him, Look - you are not ready for the gym. Go on the Atkings diet for three months. during that time, walk for one hour each night around the park. and if you can lose 50 lbs in three months, I'll consider it. This dude is huge, i'm guessing 350, so I think he gets his feelings hurt a little bit, and says, hey! I'm ready for the gym now. so i shine it on a bit, and try to change the subject. My biggest fear is this blob's heart won't be able to take the stress in the gym, and his fukking ass goes toes up on me in the middle of a routine.
Later, another buddy siad i should havve just agreedx with the guy, and since he was drunk, he would have forgotten all about it in the morning.
I don't like to sugar coat or mix messages. If I say I'll do a thing, I'll do it. but this dude clearly needs some pre-gym activity.
Anyways, that was my evening last night.

make him go over your leg routine with same intensity and you'll see he wont bother you anymore!

I hope he wakes up this morning and starts walking. Good little motivation for him to drop 50 pounds.

that's what I did about 8 years ago when I decided to turn my life around. Went on the atkins, started walking, and when I was sure I could handle it, started light strength training. It just kind of snow balled from there.....

Lol I think we all can relate to you tr man. People do that to ke the whole time steroids are asked, how long do you train in the gym thats another fav question and they get disappointed when I say about an hour and a bit. I think they believe you will be in the gym for days.

Your prob best to be honest as you were. I hate working out with other people. A couple times in the past people have asked to join me at gym. I said yes to be nice, but didn't actually want them there. However I will not change routine for them. They usually start coming up with excuses withing a day or two as to why they cant make it anymore

I can’t imagine explaining the benefits of cardio and dieting to a drunken person. It’s hard enough getting someone who is sober and out of shape to understand the importance of cardio and dieting.
