    Opening Day Walleye

How was your opening day for walleye, gentleman? In the province of Ontario it opened for many of us today. And today didn't disappoint. I fished the humps out in the open water close to approx 30fow. Some of the humps were as shallow as your waist.

In my experience over the years i have found that the big walleye head for deeper water after the spawn. Yeah the smaller aggressive ones will stick around near shore and spawning beds, but the big daddys are looking for a larger meal.

Here's a teaser. Some world class walleye on a smallish lake (compared to the Lake Erie - famous for huge walleye), if you ask me.

And of course the sexy Walleye slayer equipped with down riggers.

Stay an extra few days in the spring and we'll hammer these monster walleye bro.

Boat is very comfortable for a 19 ft'r. Ive had it out on Lake Huron salmon fishing out past the USA Intentional border. But I didn't have my passport so headed back to Manitoulin Island. Had i gone a another 13 miles, i would have been able to have lunch in Michigan. lol

I have considered you a friend all along. When i made that post, it wasn't to "push you under water". I just wished to remind you that from an outsider point of view, some of those words may have crossed the line.

    But whatever.

    Have a good trip.

Awesome catch man. I never had the opportunity I nail some walleye, but tomorrow I'm going to try my luck at some trout, then Monday were going it in the ocean for some rock fish. Wish me luck.
