I do like those Celicas aswell. Good man ongetting rid of the porker I'd rate an E36 M3 over a Porsche anyday just a more fun ccar to drive imo you can get to limit without doing anything crazy and its much safer there didyou get an evo or just the 3l one?
The Pantera is a cool bus, must put up pics of the uk show I was at in may you'll like the pantera there

We got the M3 because a friend of ours was selling it. He was the original owner, took great care of it and did a lot of sensible mods. They have hit the bottom of the depreciation curve so it was dirt cheep. It should be fun to drive until we get something faster, although I will probably want to keep it. It is getting to be old enough that it feels cool plus it is the last generation of M3s before they got fat. I would like an e30 M3 but prices have spiked. They are unreasonably high, but I guess that is to be expected with the low production numbers.
Ours is the standard 3.2l - did they even sell the Evo in the US? I think they only made a couple hundred total so they must be expensive.

Not sure re the evo in the us buddy. They are seriously cheap over here ie 5k dollars cheap for a decent one might be highish miles but def that target area.
Yeh, I agree the E30's are lovely but they are sky rocketing in prices and imo yes great cars but not that money great imo either.

Very cool man. In 87' my Corvette was just little tricked out, ya know the intake and exhaust and the second phase chip and it was quite fast. I raced many of the stock Porsche's and they couldn't hold a candle to my "Vet " Then in those days Mustang's were the thing "BOSS". They had smaller short stokers and couldn't compete even when work was done IE: same as mine.
As an old man now I love my full size "Volvo" 93' 960 sedan. ...crazy mike

Yeh the american stuff really does live up to the statement of there is no replacement for displacement. You buy a 911 for a few diff reasons other than just steaight line speed

She knows about the turbo lag and sledge hammer hit when it spools up. She knows that means you have to be pointed in a straight line when it hits. But, she has never driven one. She knows how dangerous the Pantera is so hopefully she would always be conscious of these things when driving.
Yeah, the Porsches aren't much for drag racing...not when stock anyway. Even though the current turbos are fast in a straight line they are still built for the twisties. My Pantera has a 550hp Ford 351 Cleveland stroked to 400 so I know exactly what you are talking about.

It's theTurbo lag that people love about them from I have been reading like my friends Delta Intergrale is the same positive boost at 2k and full boost and 3.5k and it bangs into it like a beast really nice to experience and gives the car character.

Welcome back. I have been keeping your seat warm. Yeah a lot of good people MIA and some how they have managed to overlook me. Ive been trying to keep my head down believe it or not. lol
I was just thinking we should start keeping a list of who has been banned or at least a list of those who matter, those who have been here for 6+ months. It would be interesting to see.

Thats why I like these cars you avtually have to drive themor put some thought into it compared to modern cars where you can really be as idiotic as you like and yhe electronics etc will sort it out for you rather than you actually learning. Yeh in england in the 80's esp round london many turbos were buried in trees lol.

It would be a good idea for a Graveyard Thread for people that have been here for a while. The other one is clogged with new people and people that get banned and come back with another name just to be banned again.
That is one of the reasons I like the older cars too, but sometimes it is tiring to drive a car that is such a handful. I also joke that my car tries to kill me every time I turn the key.

Ahh that makes you more cautious and when you get it right you enjoy it even more. I was on a car run today it was great fun and interesting to see some metal you wouldn't normally see. There was a 1976 SC there sounded great and quick too.
