I assume you're near me. I just picked up a pizza and my car said 108. I don't care how long you live here, you never get used to it. And, it's gonna be a looooong summer. Cooling with a low of 80 makes sleeping hard. My wife demands the a/c at night. I watch the bill go thru the roof.

Damn you, woman! I'd give anything for just a quick 60 degree breeze

CM, I spent some time in FL. The humidity about killed me...and the bugs. Monster sized bugs. Bugs I've never seen before or since.

That sucks TR. I used to live in Corona. I live near the beach now so its always mild. With an ocean breeze. I don't miss that dry heat at all. My house doesn't even have ac. Never needed it.

Oh yeah and it's about 88 here.

Feels so good. I don't even have to turn the A/C on. Cracked a window open and it's like Switzerland.

Fix the buzzing in your ears and come to TX, Roman! At least until Cali cools down! Go around death valley!

Yep we got bugs and when the mosquito's are out in the summer we run from the car at night and into the house. I live in a rural area and wooded , they will eat you thru your cloths. Seriously right thru your shirt. ...crazy mike

I grew up in the Bay Area, and the climate there is very temperate, and without looking, I'd say at least 20 degrees cooler there than here.

Texas, huh? Only drove through it, never stayed there more than overnight.

I thought you blokes were seceding from the union?

You know, what might get me there is a couple of blondes, a great steak house, and maybe an outdoor pool. One blond to play with, the other to wash my Harley.

I lived in the swamps of Georgia which we affectionately referred to it as the thunderbelt. Can't hardly take a breath without one of those suckers going down the wind pipe. Thunderstorms every day at 4:30, lasting maybe 30 minutes, then the sun comes out again.

And we had freshwater crocs too, or are they called alligators? maybe it's gators.

    the stories I could tell....

That's cool TR thanks for sharing. When I was skiing and training for competition everyday the alligators would start to come out in the middle of the lake. When I was in the water it was a bit eerie. You didn't know if they would come up from the bottom and eat my feet off. Ha, but the reality is they were so scared of the boat and us you couldn't get close to them, BUT they are freaking scary. ...crazy mike

there was a "pond" out in front of HQ, with a foot bridge going across. It was customary when someone got a promotion for the group of us to grab him and toss him over the side of the bridge into the pond. Black fella got promoted one time, totally freaked by the water, said he couldn't swim (pond was only 7 or 8 feet at the deepest part), but we still toss him overboard. He's freaking, splashing around, and from the side of the pond, a cute little 5 foot gater comes swimming over. I can still hear the screaming to this day. he's screaming like a lil' girl, comes flying out the pond, and runs all the way back to the barracks. dang thing was only 3 foot without the tail, and off it swam to the side of the pond and back into the sticks.

We are a blonde-broad-steakhouse-packed-outdoor-pool-harley-washing dominant state.

Actually, we have the largest Harley dealer on earth.

Hopefully the fog will make it all the way out there. It's already dropped into the mid 60's where I'm at in the east bay.
