What do you guys do for fun?
Ok so we all know drinking is bad and will cause you to lose all your gainzzzzz. So what do you guys like to do for fun? All my friends do is drink... day and night. A lot of the people I talk to at my gym also go out and drink so no luck finding anybody there lol. I could go out and do things with friends and not drink but not only do you look like an idiot and get annoyed because everyone around you is drunk but then I have to worry about eating meals every couple of hours.... so what do you do?

I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend, going to the movies, sitting around chatting. And when I'm not with her I usually go see my ex girlfriend, secretly of course.

Well ill give you guys an example.. yesterday a few friends and I went out on a buddies boat and of course they were all drinking and I brought a couple gatorades for myself and no one understood why I would be drinking Gatorade and not beer lol. And we were out for about 4 hours with no food- everyone seems to live off beer obviously food is not a necessity. Being fit and living a healthy lifestyle is not understood by society and sometimes looked down on. I have basically come to understand that bodybuilding is possibly the loneliest lifestyle. If you don't want to lose your gains/continue to make gains you basically have to lift, come home, eat food constantly and drink water and sleep.

even if I did... what could you do with friends for fun? If you leave the house to go somewhere chances are you wont be able to eat a meal every couple of hours.

As a recreational bodybuilder what gains do you really think your going to loose if you skip a meal and have it later? As long as you eat the same macros I highly doubt your going to notice a difference. But if your that worried about it take a shake with you....

You can easily eat and still stay on your plan even if you go out. Just about any restaurant will cook you a chicken breast with nothing on it. You can also get a filet at most restaurants that's very lean and ask them to leave off all butter, glaze or oil.
You're right, bodybuilding can be very lonely, but that doesn't mean you still can't try to live a normal life. Try making friends with other bodybuilders. There are thousands of them out there who live just like you do. And when you hangout you can do all the things everyone else does, you just want be drinking. GO to ball games, movies, hangout at the house with the guys, play cards, pool..whatever. And if you're out on the water, that doesn't mean you just have to sit on a boat. Do people not ski and kneeboard anymore? I used to love doing that. Go camping, hunting, fishing. And if you're lucky, meet a girl you can spend time with and then you'll have plenty of things to occupy your time. You may still have times when you don't really have anything "Fun" to do, that's true no matter who you are. Try reading about things you're interested in, look into things and search out answers about things that are important to your life.

I work, gym, beach, play sports, watch sports, go to sports events, watch movies, read, go online like now, and I go out all the time and very rarely have a beer. I don't care what my friends are doing at all. I am there for 1 reason only WOMEN. I also play poker in a poker league now and then and I have 2 kids so I have a real full life. I went out last night had fun watching UFC, problem last night was all sausage or women with there men watching the fights. A few that were nice to look at but real young. Sounds like your friends are depressed to me.

a few beers or eating a meal a few hours late isnt going to make any difference. Unless your competing and making money off your looks there is no reason to give up everything for a hobby. Whats going to happen when you loose your friends because you don't want to do anything and something happens to you and you cant lift. I've always made a balance. I know plenty of guys who fight professionally or compete in BB and still party, when its close to a fight or show they don't. I couldn't goto the gym for the last 10 months cause of an injury. I would have been lost if I blew everyone off before.
Exactly
Russian blondes for me, well a Russian blondeIf people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

First of all, you don't have to be hanging out at the pub all night in order to have friends. Best thing to make new friends is to look for people with similar interests to you besides bodybuilding. There are clubs for just about every type of activity imaginable look in to joining one. It might take some time for you to find what you're interested in doing for fun. You could go to ball games with your friends, fishing, ATVing, dirt biking, you name it.
I don't advocate for anyone to drink, but a few beers every now and then when you're out isn't going to change a thing. Just like Gixxer said, unless you're depending on your body's appearance to make your living, it's just a hobby.
