They still do the Mr. O? LOL!
The last few years the IFBB has given tickets to military in the Nevada area in hopes that they could actually fill the venue and they still haven't been able to fill it. Two or three years ago they gave away 3,000 free tickets and not even half of those free tickets showed up at the show.
It's sad really, the IFBB is on life support due to it being one of the most corrupt organizations on planet earth.

Ha, good point!
The IFBB is the only organization I've ever seen that seems to be hell bent on destroying itself on purpose. Obviously the half dozen guys that run the thing (yes, it's a few guys that control it all) don't want to destroy it, they're merely pocketing as much as they can for as long as they can get away with it. But the real shame is everyone else lets them. The bodybuilders buy into the garbage they're told and go right along with the program with a smile on their face thinking they've hit superstardom but most end up struggling to pay rent on a crappy 1 bedroom apartment.

BB'ing as a sport is horrendous. There really isnt anything good about it.

I kinda feel similar, as the BB'ers do make a lot of money outta the supp companies etc but the companies in return do get their money's worth out of them. I follow Phil Heath on twitter and at one stage of the year he was nearly flying to a different part of the world daily was crazy.
Still, I'd like to go for the experience of it all.

Exactly! Only a very few bodybuilders make a living at bodybuilding and only a handful make really good money. A really good bodybuilder can make $100k a year...$50k from a supplement endorsement, $10-20k with Wieder and then the rest they make doing guest posing (couple grand a show) and random things like that. If they win any money for a show that's just extra and most of the time you do not finish in the money. Keep in mind, these are good bodybuilders, the very top like Heath and Cutler make more but again the very top is less than 10 guys. As for the good one below Heath and Cutler, even if they make $100k a year, they have enormous expenses. Gear, food, their trainer, etc. and they haven't even begun to pay for their basic bills we all pay for.
Then there are the rest of the bodybuilders, the vast, vast majority. They're lucky if they make $30k and that's a great year and they have the same expenses as every bodybuilder and as a result most work a second job, which is actually their main job.
Back to the good bodybuilders, let's say they make $100k a year and they do so for 10yrs, which isn't a bad run in bodybuilding. Now they're retired, broke, they have no experience that can get them a job anywhere, most are used to people handing them money for existing and now they work delivering furniture and living check to check like most everyone else. Very few are able to build a career around the sport after they retire like Sean Ray or Bob Chic has, that's one out of 100,000. But the real crying shame is a lot of these guys can't function after bodybuilding is over. They were promised all this money, they were promised this was their ticket but once they retire having made very little money they're thrown in the trash.
