Help kill these ants!
What are you guys using to kill ants? I have thousands of little black ants that surround my entire house, coming in all the tiny cracks in the stucco.
I spray almost every day, yet 30min later they all out again.
Just read about cornmeal (after they eat then drink, expands in belly and kills them).
Any suggestions?

I hate any kind of "spray" insecticide. Sprays kill on contact and they die there. You want to feed them something to take back to their colony that kills them all. They eat peanut butter, so that can be your bait, and you can put some Abamectin on it, which is what they take home to their colony and kills them all.
That's basically what's in the commercial ant bait boxes. If it's that bad, you really need to find the reason though. Seeing a few ants is normal when they're searching for food. But seeing tons of them is indicative of food being around.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

yup, once the queen dies the whole colony dies. they used to make this fine white and odorless powder, basically you sprinkle it on the ant trail and around the nest. this powder then clings on their tiny hairs and they take it with them to the colony, its a slow silent killer powder. it releases the fumes while they are all in the nest and kills them all. or you can make your own,

I get a 1/4 jar of honey. Put it by where they enter and by their nest. They crawl in and drown. Usually catch about 300-500 ants a jar

If you know where their nest is, pour boiling water in it a few times. That pretty much destroys the majority of them, and a good chance you'll get the queen.

I ended up mixing 1 cup water with 1/2 cup sugar and 2.5 tbs of Borax. I then dipped cotton balls in the solution and places near areas of ants.
As of now, they grubbin like there is no tomorrow. Should know within a day or two if it killed off the colonies. Unfortunately they living in the cracks of the house walls/stucco as I don't see a single ant trail.

Nice. The house I just bought I found an ant colony where the driveway meets up with the garage floor. I was cleaning the driveway and they came pouring out from in-between one of the seems. At first I just hooded up my shop vacuum and let it run for a few minutes. As soon as I removed it another 20+ came to the surface. I let it run for a good hour and they just kept getting sucked up. Eventually I just sprayed it with deadline then raid. Went to the store and got more liquid ant killer and drenched the opening. Haven't seen one in almost 2 weeks.
I'm still going to go with the home remedy above and soak the opening again as well as pour/spray the outside of my foundation again. I also cleaned, vacuumed and sprayed all the corners and walls inside my garage just to be safe.

or you could just pour boiling water down the ant hole...

Most and holes are more like a small hole or crack so any water poured in would cool off rapidly. Now as a kid when I found a ant hill in a field I would of course do what any red blooded American kid does. First your throw a few fire crackers in it, then an m-80 then a quart of gasoline and light it.

There are some good granulated insecticides you can use around the foundation of your home that work well.
I used the spectracide brand with success. Use a spreader to go around the foundation, then hit it with a hose so it will dissolve in to the ground. It allegedly creates a barrier that insects will not cross.
I had great success with this along with internal bait traps. Hope you get rid of these pesty fvckers. I know they gave me a hard time.

Huge box or Borax was like $4 at Walmart, in which you can use the rest for laundry and what not. Way cheaper and looks to have worked great so far.

it worked 100% and over night. really incredible stuff this boric acid is! I latterly had millions of ants and for months, tried everything out there, and boric acid killed them overnight! not even a trace! it too good to be true.
I live on 5 acres and have 100s of colonies, so just to experiment I simply sprinkled boric acid powder alone in the hole of the colony and around it, we'll see if that will do the trick.
Hey Dave, any evidence of your ants coming back?

Nice. I was able to get rid of most colonies but not all. I was going to experiment with a little borax protein shake lol.
