    Which health insurance provider?

Hey guys! Long time! I just got back to the States a couple weeks ago from working abroad for about 5 years. The new employer I'm with doesn't offer health insurance, so I need to get my own. Any suggestions on how to go about finding a good provider? And what are the main things you look for when looking at the different options they provide (co-pay, premiums, etc). I'm a single male, 29 years old, non-smoker btw.

I have Alico Platinum for myself and Gold for my wife and Daughter. I can used it worldwide and dont pay a penny in co-pays for doctors visits or prescriptions. It really boils down to what monthly premium you want to pay. I hear that the affordable care act coverage is pretty good and im not being a smart ass. I would shop around. Are you a veteran?

www.EHealthInsurance.com is where I got my policy from. I don't like having my policy tied to employment, and during a period where I owned my own business I had my own policy, and decided to just keep it. Think about what you want in a policy, be REASONABLE, if you aren't sickly, then you probably don't need a policy with $5 deductibles and what not. My policy is through Horizon BCBS, its $190/month. Office visits are $30, Emergency Room is $100, Outpatient Surgery is a $500 deductible, Prescription is up to X amount in dollars, and 50% of the cost of brand name drugs. It has mental health, chiropractic, etc. It is a great policy for the cost. I was really interested in a policy to cover catastrophic injury, just like you'd have for your vehicle or home, however this policy goes much further for the money, so its great in my opinion. You may want something more inclusive, but understand you will pay for it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll look into both of them. No, I'm not a veteran. I'm not sickly, but have had some issues with anxiety/depression in the past, so prescriptions may be something I'll need in the future. Wmaousley how much are your premiums a month?
