    dress shirts that fit?

So im the best man in my buddies wedding coming up this weekend and I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a fitted button down dress shirt that fits correctly.

I'm about a 16 35-36.. But my arms bulge out the sleeves.. I tried the big and tall section but those are just too baggy.

I have relatively big arms (about 17inch biceps) and chest (50inches) I don't wear dress shirts often so I'm not that familiar with different fittings.

I don't really have a problem with tightly fitting shirts but this one I can barely move my arms..

Any advice? Any stores that you guys could recommend that sell shirts fitted for guys muscles? ha

Custom fitted shirt - otherwise you'll have to go fir a large size and find someone to take it in on the waist.

You need tailor made clothing which isnt going to be possible by the weekend.

Big and tall section at stores might be best route to go. Try Mens Warehouse or something like that

That's what I do. Become friends with your tailor. Not expensive to do at all really. I used to have to wear a shirt/tie to work every day. It sucked but you'll get by.

Same here...... Shirts are the easy part. I look great in a tailored shirt. It's the suits that suck. If you purchase the jacket an pants seperate it's almost double the cost. If you buy them together either the jacket is way too fvcking big or you win up with a 44 waste. Try taking in size 44 pants to a 34 without the pockets being around your ass.

Try a neck size a bit bigger or different brand. I wear dress shirts every day to work and have no problem finding shirts that fit with 18" arms. Suits on the other hand are tougher.

Soooo true. You have one pocket in the middle of your arse! Then they always think that they "can" tailor it initially. They proceed to F it up and give up.

Men's wearhouse has never messed up my pants. From a 44 to a 32 pants the take out of the crotch and butt and it's straight. Shouldn't be a problem.

This is kind of what I figured.. I will have to look into finding a tailor for the future. For now I guess I'll just deal with the tight sleeves and hope I don't have to bend my arms too much haha.

I tried on a few from the big and tall section which started at a 18 inch neck. Too big for me.. And I felt like I was wearing a snuggy. I hate the look of a bunched up shirt that is too big.

I've still got a fairly big waist (36-38 depending on brand) so pants don't post TOO much of a problem for me.. Unless my quads bulge out which in formal dress situations looks weird imo.

Why the hell did this slim fit skinny jeans trend get so damn popular? I hate it!

With a bigger, non-tailored shirt you can also fold the sides in to tighten it up. Then cinch your belt to keep it in place.

You mentioned custom tailored shirts aren't too expensive.. Can you give me an idea on what it should cost?

You buy a shirt (whatever that might be, between $50-$300+ depending on quality) that fits then get it tailored for less than $20.

I have 3 suits I can't wear because of this. I've only got one suit that's passable. All the jackets are tailored okay..... It's the damn pants that look stupid.

It's funny whenever a new tailor measures me...... especially older Spanish women haha. If you find a tailor that can make a suit look great on you..... Stick with em!

yeah i have this issue with suits...I wear size 56 or 58 if slim fit suits (those are european sizes have no clue as to US) ... prob is they fit the shoulders alright but those jackets are made for people who have a santa claus paunch....so I end up sending it to my tailor who adjusts and fits ...and the pants....i could fit two of me in there so I can never buy a suit to wear the same or next day...i always have to get it a week ahead...

for the shirts, I have 18" biceps (46 cm) .. I never had any issues with shirts...I get the XXL ones...slim fit XXL comes in tight and fits snuggly...regular fit I sometimes get XL and it fits good. I dont know about american sizes tho...

funny thing is sometimes I have to wear a suit to some meetings....with the shaved head, and stubble beard and dark oakleys i get mistaken for the security detail ....the best is looking at their faces when i end up in the meeting room on the same table as their protege....hehehe...

I'm not a pro body builder by any stretch of the imagination but I'm similar in size that you stated. The last suit I bought was at Men's Warehouse. I was having the same issues with the shirts & the jacket. They custom tailored it to fit me. It wan't that expensive seeing as how this is a suit that I will keep for a few years & wear multiple times. I had never had anything tailored to me prior to this, the entire suit is very comfortable. I used to hate wearing nice clothes because all the stuff on the rack never fit correctly, once you get a suit tailored to you, you will never want to waste your time & money buying generic, uncomfortable clothing off the rack. Well worth the investment.

You may want to go a little big as opposed to a little small. I am by no means big. But I had an embarassing situation a few years ago. I was at a grand opening at a building in town. Went to bar and ordered drink, and when I reached for it my shirt split dow the back form my neck to wear it tucked into my pants. Had to walk throught the entire function with everyone looking at me to get my jacket and wear it for the rest of the night.....lol, you dont want that to happen!

I know that felt slightly akward LOL. I did the same thing at a buddies wedding reception, except it was my pants..........straight down the middle of my A$$. Luckily I had drank a few beers by then & I didn't care about it until brain starting working again a few days later.
