    Fruit flys

Is there a quick and easy way to get rid of these things? They showed up cause I had some bananas on the counter..and now they wont go away, and they are multiplying...
I am getting sick of sucking them up with the vacuum

Anyone know how to get rid of these damn things!?!?

    This works quite well.

You might also get rid of your old fruit and ensure you aren't putting food waste in your trashcan for a few days. Lock up food waste in ziplock bags or wash it down a disposal if you have to.

Agree with apple cider vinegar. We also put saran wrap over the jar/glass and poke holes the size of a pencil in it. Not sure how much difference it makes but it works well.

    try acting straight?

but seriously, they have a few days life span, so get rid of rotting fruit and they'll die out.

I think their lifespan is very short (maybe even 24 hours) but that also means they multiply rapidly. I never was lucky enough for them just to die off.

    Could buy some Geckos, too.

Edit - boy I missed that one. Article here says lifespan is 40 - 50 days. http://www.orkin.com/flies/fruit-fly...-of-fruit-fly/

There is no rotting fruit, there is no food on the counters... they are like sitting on the cupboards n shit, and on the stove. Theres no food anywhere... they seem to just be getting worse every fukin day its driving me crazy.
My woman bought vinegar, its not applecidar though... they are kind of just sitting on the rim of the glass. Are they supposed to drink it and die ?

Actually they like to hibernate or lay eggs in the overflow drain on sinks since it's moist.

Try adding a little wine to it. They drink it, fall in and cant get out. Also do as said and put some plastic wrap over the tip with a hole in it or something similar so they get stuck inside.
