AAS and Jobs
Its a fact that more attractive and fit people are more likely to get hired for a position, even when a more qualified person is applying.
Just curious if any members have had social and professional advancement as a driving factor behind their steroid use .

Yeah that's a fact. Taller and better looking folks are always ahead of the curve.

Yup it's a fact that better looking people physically and facially are prone to get jobs easier, persuade people, negotiate better providing they have the skills. Physically fit people portray self discipline and people tend to respect a person that takes care of themselves. i personally find it repulsive to see obese people due to a lack of self respect. That does not go for all, bearing medical conditions, but medical conditions are rare. In places like Las Vegas, many service industry jobs require people to look good and be fit. Wow that was a mouthful! But i have known HR people that have even stated this.

Its true. How can i trust an obese person to manage my company if they cant even manage their own personel well being. The first thought that comes to mind is lazy, true or not.

Many of the owners/CEOs I deal with are on the borderline of obesity and they are all quite successful people if you ask me...on any board meeting, Im the only one who knows what a diet is and what a barbell is used for
the others spend their time on the pool, on their yachts, drinking, smoking and partying ... but in business they are sharks...
I wouldnt associate obesity with lack of managerial skills...heck maybe they got to this weight by working long hours, eating junk food and focusing on work instead of on a healthy living...one cant judge.

exactly.
plus from experience, its very hard to find someone at the top of things (we are talking multi million dollar company CxO (CEO,CTO,CFO etc) who is at the same time shredded and ripped and cycling like we do...some keep fit OK...threadmills, jogging, aerobics, cardio etc but thats it...and most do it out of fashion rather than out of desire to be really fit.
at least where I live and the people I deal with on a daily basis.
I know a guy whos personal fortune is around 1 Billion US$... he has a fully loaded gym in his villa and has NEVER SET FOOT IN IT and we are talking major equipment here...5000$ threadmills, stair climber , designer dumbbells that kind of stuff...

I can agree with some of the comments. Those CEO'S also have HR staff that looks at hiring people differently than what their boss looks like or personal habits are. Twenty years ago you would not have found owners of the UFC and Station Casino's that are on hrt and fit as a fiddle. They train daily in their private gym. You can walk into any Guess store or many of the retail chains and see nothing but beautiful young people. The times are changing and more and more i think we will see looks and fitness play a role in the workforce. Very true statement about those CEO'S that are overweight and out of shape due to the stress of there job and long hours. Give them time and when there doc tells them to clean up there act due to a stroke or some health issue, they will be forced to turn things around. The thread brings about an interesting awareness to fitness in the work force. Some companies have gyms inside them. I have seen a lot of progress in the general workplace regarding fitness. Usually those CEO'S that are borderline obese like to have good looking people around them and representing them.

In EMS and hospitals, it seems to be the opposite. Granted, this has to do with experience and education negatively trending with health as one ages.
I'm sure it's different in the private business sector.
If I gained 50 lbs of fat and wore glasses I'd probably get a raise...

I saw this show about mexico and how everyone drinks coca cola all the time. And the price is area dependent. So if your in a poor area its cheap if your in a richer area it costs a little more.

That's cause obesity has challenged smoking etc as the number one killer. There's a lot of fat people out there. Where i live cocktail waitresses do not get hired in nightclubs that are fat and out of shape. No one is tipping a fat cocktail waitress 2,000.00. All the hosts and managers in shape or at least appear to be. How many of the pharmaceutical reps are good looking women. Why because the buyer, will be more likely to see them and want to take them to lunch. the trend is changing. The mega gym here will have 6,000 people in a day workout. Out of 6,000 1,000 are in shape. that's a pretty good percentage. you can argue this point all day long. Some cities that are small and not many good looking people have no choices. Like i said i have not walked into a Guess or Armani store where the girls are fat and not good looking. Maybe where others live there isn't much option. Given the choice, good looking people get what they want provided they have something to offer. Its a no brainer!!
Excluding areas where everyone knows everyone and you are likely to see the same people at the same spot everyday it may be different.
