    Going out tonight... should I even lift?

    Going out to the bars with my friends tonight but today is shoulder day... should I even bother to lift today if I will be drinking tonight which will keep me from making any gains?

    Im going to go lift anyways but with all the talk about how evil alcohol is I was just wondering if it would be a waste of time to lift today if I am going to go have some drinks tonight (because alcohol is counter productive and stops protein absorption and can raise estrogen levels for up to 3 days or something like that)

    Not really sure what alcohol has anything to do with training. You're overthinking things to the most extreme levels.

    I f your worried about gains, protein absorption and such, don't. Go ahead and train. However if you expect to get in a scrap and don't want to be weak then don't train so you can kick some ass if needed.

    i see this all the time. guys come in, chest, bis, chest, bis, chest, bis - then let everyone know they are off to the club to "nail mad hoes"........

    seems counter productive. causing muscle tissue breakdown, probably eating junk food while out, then throwing booze ontop.....

    If you are really serious about bodybuilding, you wont let yourself stray to far from the path. I have the same dilemma tomorrow, buddies want to go to a college football game. So. just to be on the safe side I am taking some peanuts, beef jerky, and a protein bar while ill b sitting in the stands at least for SOME nutrition. I will have to buy water at the game....no coolers allowed.

    I would go out and have a good time, but very rarely do this I take this stuff seriously. It would be better to just take off for the day, and hit the delts tomorrow afternoon, with some quality meals already consumed. Good luck!

    You know, if you're not competing in bodybuilding, it's rather foolish to deprive yourself of those things. A few dogs and some garlic fries are okay in moderation. If drinking is your thing, a couple beers isn't going to make a difference. I say go out and have a good time at the game. Remember this is a hobby that we do for fun.

    If your body's appearance is your livelihood, of course, that all goes out the window.

    You better be cheering for USC though.

    And I'm not just saying it cuz the giants blow asshole this year and he's a pats fan.

    Ever notice how many big mfkrs go out to clubs? Okay we'll I'm from jersey lol and there's big mfkrs partying left and right. Now don't get me wrong...... I'm not condoning going out every Saturday to kill ur nose an ur liver. All I'm saying is while these guys are being extremely unhealthy...... It's not hurting their size. Yes they probably abuse steroids also.

    Now...... If someone is dedicated for the majority of the time and they aren't competing...... There is absolutely no reason why you can't go out and get hammered once in a while. You need to keep a social life also. You'll burn the fvck out if not.
