Agreed. Every now and then a song will come out that I like for about fifteen minutes but its always back to the 80s for me. Except when I lift.

Come on now, even if you consider entire decades to have no good music, there must be a song you hate more than the rest.

There is plenty of good stuff being made today. In fact, I'd say there is more good music being released now than ever before. It's one of the good things that happened with internet and high quality recording equipment becoming affordable. People today that otherwise wouldn't have ever had any opportunity to release stuff are putting music out.

The downside to all this is that there is a lot of awful shit being released too. In fact so much garbage that it's hard to find the stuff worth listening to. And pop music has fallen to new lows as well. But that's due to the fact that popular music's fan base are bigger idiots now than ever before (and to think that 10 years ago, I thought it was impossible for the bar to sink any lower).

I love classic rock from the 70s but I agree, there was some awesome rock from the 90s like Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, et al.
