landscapers/grass experts
The front lawn looks good but recently I been noticing this grass and/or weed growing into it. It starts from the corner where the grass meets the driveway and I am unable to tell what kind of weed it is if it is even a weed at all. Its mixed with grass and feels also like a vine like weed. You can see it mixed with the other grass and where I pulled a few out. Any ideas? Im trying to find something to kill it without harming the surrounding grass.

Maybe like a crab grass? They sell weed and crab grass killers that won't affect your lawn

Bermuda grass. But I don't know how to get rid of it. I would have to research it myself

Yeah st Augustine. We have that at my place. It's super nice when it is green and will choke out and other weeds from growing in it. But it browns in the winter and looks like crap.

Hire a lawn guy..

I tried the weed and feed for crab grass and 100 other weeds. No luck. I might call a lawn guy.

The best way to kill any weed in your lawn you can not easily pull is to choke it out with good/new grass. aerate the soil either by renting an aerator or you can simply get some of those shoes that have 3in spikes. Yeah they look goofy and you look like a dork but just use them when you mow and it will help. Then get some GOOD, high quality seed (cheap seeds have weeds) and reseed or over seed your lawn. Put either a thin coat of good top soil (1/2") or peat-moss to help the new seeds to germinate.

If you can get an annual rye/fine blade fescue mix sewn before the temps drop too low in your area, that may choke out/overgrow it. Not sure which zone your location is, but annual rye will pretty much grow on top of concrete if it gets sufficient water.

As far as quality grass seed, I generally have better luck with the grass seed purchased at the local feed store vs. the stuff purchased at a chain store.

I think I found out what it is:
Centipedegrass

Kinda thought that was centipede, but wasn't positive enough to post up. It is pretty common here in the South. About the only way I slowed its' growth was to overseed with a heavy annual rye and fescue mix in the fall after the temps stayed under 60° F or thereabout. Centipede grass really doesn't make a bad lawn if the whole yard is centipede.
If it is only a small area tear up the centipede grass and all of its' runners, work the dirt, and reseed.

I have an acquaintance who knows all about grass.
See how he has outgrown his county with his lush green grasses?

Looks like Bermuda grass to me.
You will have to pull it out, fertilize really well, and plant some grass/lay sod.

Get back on track...
If you dont want to pull that stuff by hand or just over seed and forget it, pretend it's not there then you can do like I am doing for my new house which is 80% weeds. Kill it all. Spray roundup or whatever on it once a week for at least a month. Kill EVERYTHING then wait another month and make sure nothing grows especially weeds and start over using good quality grass seed.
Again it's advisable to at least break up the surface with a metal rack or you can have it done for you and put down new seed and cover with a thin layer of top soil or peat-moss.

It's a smaller area so this weekend I might dig it up, top soil then seed.
