Just a joke. Realized he'd been here for a year and probably is 19 now. Looked at his post count and thought he just joined. Damn it. Need to look more carefully before I make a smart ass remark.

take a picture of yourself with your smart phone (no face) and attach in your reply. You sound like a mess and we all need a pic of you so we can advise.

you are lucky, my friend. don't get me wrong, I'm still very active and can keep up, but I recognized a couple years ago that it takes me a bit longer to recover and to get warm, etc.

I'm not sure how Lucky I have been. I herniated L3 & L4 when I was 23. Ive had 8 surgeries on my right eye since I was 10 yrs old. My first back surgery when I was 43, second back surgery (L5-S1) when I was 45. Detached Retina surgery at 46. Rotator cuff surgery at 48. Re attach detached lens from retina surgery 49.

It's all a mater of mindset. As the saying goes, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I fell better now than I did at 45 and better than 40 in a lot of ways although there are more daily aches and pains but nothing unbearable and nothing I dont think I can make better with time, exercise and better meds.

Most everyone thinks that in their 20s but in a blink of an eye all of the sudden you are 30 and you realize the next 10 years wont be that much different and 30 is not as bad as you though. Then all of the sudden you are mid 40s and everything is still about the same.

I really dont feel any different at 50 than I did at 25. I thought it would be a big change but it's not except when I look in the mirror. Instead of the 25 yr old I use to see now I see a younger reflection of my dad.

Now I really dont think 60-65 will be all that much different except hopefully I will be in better shape and have more hair since hair cloning should be perfected by then.

Wow, that is insane. I actually cracked L3 playing HS football and was in a brace for months. Serious pain. Glad you are up and active and have such a positive mindset. Many would have packed it in and felt sorry for themselves. I saw your pics in the contest thread a while back and it seems like you're keeping up just fine.

I left out a few things/operations I have also had over the years. lol
L3/L4 hurt pretty bad but got better or bearable for about 20 years until I could not walk or stand more than 10 minutes at a time. Surgery helped 99%

Ruptured L5/S1 2 years later. WORSE pain ever. 90% paralyzed from the waist down for 2 weeks until after surgery. Couldn't walk, stand or sit, not even to do anything.... Trying to do any of the mentioned more then 15-30 seconds and I would pass out from pain. Surgery helped 90%

Loss feelings in the bottom of my feel so I had to re learn to walk. I had chicken legs for the 1st time ever due to muscle atrophy, nerve damage.

It was either give up and live in a wheel chair or get back in shape and take control of my future. The more I exercise and get in better shape the less pain I have.

Should I add 1st wife died 1996, 2nd wife 2006 and found out mom had pancreatic cancer 2010, 3 weeks after my detached retina surgery?

Hey it's all just speed bumps in the adventure they call life. I could still go on and NO, I'm not complaining. There are a LOT of people that have had it a lot worse. I'm still a glass 1/2 full person and try to see the good in most everything and everyone.

Dont complain but feel free to share experiences.

Jesus lovebyts. Man I'm really sorry to hear about your losses.. I just couldn't imagine bro. Some people can handle whatever is thrown at them, I guess you're one of those people. I'm sure it didn't come without its fair share of pain though.
